It is funny that the argument is going to have to be "he pays off bitches that I cheated on my wife with all the time, just because I happened to be running for president this time doesn't mean our setup was any different"

and it's actually kind of a convincing argument. You can't say "he NEVER would have paid her off if he wasn't running for president!" because there's ample evidence of him (and also of the national enquirer for him) doing just that.

As for Menendez, it isn't a direct hypocrisy. The House and Senate are protecting the administration from punishment for corruption, crimes, ethics violations, etc because they are on the same team. It isn't a matter of reactionary "BUSH SUCKZ VOTE BLUE, OBAMA SUXXX VOTE RED" as it is a matter of checks and balances purposely being hindered by an apparent fascism. If it weren't for that then absolutely I simply wouldn't vote for a senator on the ballot of either two parties. Yes he is corrupt, but that isn't the larger issue in the matter of voting in an asshole or not.
Hillary was rather corrupt, but at least she wouldn't have cost millions healthcare while also raising the costs needlessly, gutting environmental regulations so coal can freely flow into the water, ecosystems threatened, federal land sold off to be mined, logged, etc, and starting trade negotiations by just starting a war from the get go.

Sort of like having too many birds in your backyard so you get cats. Then you have too many cats so you get dogs. Then you have too many dogs so you get bears. Then you have too many bears so you elect Trump. Then you have Trump so you get more bears.
