The last episode they made was 9 years ago. While the style is definitely different, I think it has a lot to do with improvements in both animation tech and talent of the returning animators. If quality is like this through the whole arc we're in for a treat. I have doubts they can maintain it, though. Like Toei's offerings, I bet we'll get certain episodes with notably low quality, and others with big moments where they dump most of their budget.

ngl, some of it felt CGI. While that can look decent, I'd only really trust ufotable or IG with it.

Man, imagine all of Bleach was that quality. I stopped caring about it in the end, and something very similar is happening to MHA at the moment, but it's still nice to see it get finished animated. I'll watch it solely for that and I genuinely forgot about 90% of it lol

Well that was unexpected. Believe per the original announcement that Funimation will also still carry them. The mouse just got the rights to stream/distribute. Could also just be a global license, since Disney+ streams lots of anime in east Asian territories.

I'm trying to rewatch Bleach (minus fillers) before the new season airs. I haven't seen it since like high school 15 years ago.

The Ryoka filler arc wasn't too bad honestly, some great fight scenes in it.
