I'm also used to watching Bleach dubbed, but if you decide to just watch the subs it's still great and worth it.

this was my approach with DBS having only heard DBZ subbed, which was an adjustment to be sure

I wonder if there's a fair and accurate list that ranks how strong each Captain is compared to each other.

Some of them have their powers negated and are defeated rather quickly, all things considered.

There have been data books with the bullshit DBZ style power level thing, but in reality, you kind of have to look at it as a balancing act between rock, paper, scissors, and Kubo not always being the best at writing. This whole arc is pretty much a reflection of the problem with "giant cast-itis" in shounen where you can't really give side characters significant screen time due to budget/time constraints. Doesn't really help matters when you get the occasional annoying villain who mows through multiple people and won't just stay down. Otherwise best to just look at this as an excuse for Kubo to say Renji isn't actually just an escalator in a universe where people can fly anyway.

They did Rukia's moment so well. It's a scene I thought Kubo storyboarded masterfully in his original panels, and the studio changed very little bringing it to life here. It was such a cool way to learn the distinction between her ice and Hitsugaya's.

And now we've got some of the better Zaraki stuff coming up! There's like 6-7 eps left, this season ends Sep 30. Really happy with the quality so far, and all the extra color they're adding to the original story. Cheers to Studio Pierrot.

Agreed. Rukia's bankai was awesome finally seeing it animated. The animation and all the additions to story have been awesome.

Even Rose didn't seem as big of an idiot against Mask as the manga made it out to be lol.

When Ywhach and his crew arrive at the Soul Palace. Everything from that point on is a rushed mess.

I went ahead and watched the rest of the episodes. The dub is coming out to slow. My Japanese is good enough that I don't have to look down at the subtitles all the time. I have to reiterate one thing.

Holy shit the Zaraki episode was as amazing as I had hoped. The title drop was badass!

My only slight complaint is that I wished they had kept some of the reactions of the other sternritters to Gremmy’s meteor.

Great ep. I could swear there was more sanpo kenju vs Guenael in the manga though. Perhaps dumb to have expected all changes in this adaptation to be expansionary; all sorts of pacing edits gotta happen to fit it in perfect 21 min blocks.
