Lol at Nynja not understanding teaching children that trans people exist and are valid so they don't grow up to be huge transphoes like him.

My little brother had loosely similar views to Nynja, and we discuss it a lot, so I can understand some of where Nynjas' coming from. Its also no surprise that at one time in my past i also got heavily sucked into the "Anti woke" "SJW!!" crowd, something that I feel I've moved past even though I still hold more nuanced opinions of certain subjects.
I had conversations about it with him and we came to more or less an understanding, but I can see what happened to him and how he was influenced by the people he watched on the subject. It kinda got brought up with the recent COD Streamer dude saying that "Leave the kids alone" line, I stood on the side of COD, my brother however thought that he didn't say anything wrong and there was nothing wrong with "stop messing with the children". We discussed the context of it and what views it supports, and how rather he intended it or not he was spouting transphobic rhetoric and unless he was omnipotent he has no way of knowing what those Protestors beliefs were and just assumed because they were pro-trans rights they must be pedo's/after the children. By spouting Anti-Trans rhetoric in justification for violence, he was supporting that violence. He understood me after explaining it, at least I think I got to him. He >really< likes TimTheTatman, watches him a lot, so I can see why he took Tims side in this and just assumed it was another "cancel culture woke crowd" until i explained it to him... those streamers have a lot of influence over the people who watch them, I'm just happy my little brother talks to me about this stuff and we can have adult conversations and come to an understanding.
I've found my talks with my little brother insightful, he has kids, I don't, and at the end of the day he thinks parents should have a right to at least protest what their kids are exposed to in school or have some say in the matter, and that he would prefer to explain to his children sexuality as a subject. I reminded him teaching about sex isn't anything new, how we all learned about sex in Home economics class in middle school, and that I do believe when teaching about SEX in middle school, as part of the curriculum, it should explain sexuality as a whole, I.E Straight, Homosexual as well as topics like transgenderism from an objective and fair standpoint, that its important to teach kids, specifically puberty-age children, that its okay to feel certain ways and to stop stigmatizing non-straight relationships by omission. It should be an unbiased look at these things designed to teach puberty age children its okay to have these thoughts and feelings and they aren't abnormal for not liking X gender or feeling X way, and from there the parents can damage their kids however they want.
So, I'm fully supportive of unbiased sexual education around late-middle school/early high-school that covers the fundamentals of sexuality for education purposes and that includes Straight, homosexual, transgender from not only the scientific lens but the social acceptance lens.
At the same time, I don't think you should bring young children to graphic and sexually suggestive shows of any kind, Drag or straight. I wouldn't bring a child to a strip club and I wouldn't bring them to a drag show, I just feel contextually its inappropriate. I don't think the Drag-queens are trying to groom kids, I just don't think its appropriate for them to be there, and yes I feel this way about big boob advertisements and all that other stuff.
So long story short, I kinda hope thats roughly what Nynja is saying here.
what if our culture is just shitty, regressive, and panicked when it comes to sex and genitalia
mijo, it's called a vulva. the vagina is just part of it
i would prolly buy the we need to protect the children line if these same people exerted the same energy on child's beauty pageants which literally put children in swimsuits caked in makeup on a stage to be scored by heterosexual adults jfc world. there have been exponentially fewer posts ever directed at this billion dollar systemized sexualization of children from the defenders of the youth and hmm one wonders why that is so
but this is part of what has been so successful about the anti-trans movement. they consistently frame the conversation and determine what the topic of conversation is in the general public. again, no discussion about trans homelessness or trans suicide rates have ever engendered the kind of engagement around here as trans athletes or drag shows do.
It's not. Nynja, which idk why y'all still engage with him on these topics, hates minorities and still does the whole I'm not racist/sexist/xenophobic/etc. I hate everyone equally shtick as a man in his 40s. He's an edgelord that will never grow up and will push respectability politics onto minorities forever, always changing the line in the sand. He will use a single individual and use them to characterize an entire group but if you mention a trend common amongst straight, white men he loses his mind. Krandor is less apparent with his hatred but they're the same.
People like those two think struggles are equal in severity. It's wild that they're harping so hard on the fact people called some man cissy. Trans people are have legislation, at state and national levels around the world be craft about them, they're being murdered, denied access to Healthcare and essentially turned into unwilling pawns in some sick culture war. But yes, people being called cis annoyingly is the same as being abused and harassed for years because you're a trans individual.
Like you said: "in middle school", "puberty-age children". They're pushing shit about sex and gender and trans to the boys whos balls havent dropped and the girls who havent started growing breasts. Theyre teaching this stuff to kids who are still of the age they generally believe Santa is real person who climbs down everyones chimney on the morning of December 25th and leaves presents under the tree for the good boys and girls. Kids this age are overly impressionable and beyond naive. You could tell them the most negative shit possible, but as long as you say it in a high tone and sound joyful, they will go along with it waving their hands and smile joyfully.
I respect the fuck out of the avatar change Nynja
"middle school" and "puberty-age" = 18 now, calllllllissssse de tabarnak
I could be wrong, I dont have kids, but I'm pretty sure the "these are your private parts" talks can, and should, be done by parents, and doesnt need to go much further than that.
This is the worst hill to die on ever and I can't believe people are so eager to
When do we get to the "its transphobic to refuse to have sex with a trans person" talking point? That ones my favorite, and I know damn well there are people here who buy into that theory.
