Elon personifies what it means when we say "You gotta have money to make money"

He's not successful at all beyond identifying something that could be successful if one were to throw a lot of money at it (EVs)

Things go wrong because he wants to get involved and show he's more than just the check writer

It's only a handpicked few accounts that are monetized anyway, plenty of big bluechecks haven't had theirs turned on at all.

I don't know why you'd throw away the branding like that. At that point you'd have been better off making a competitor from scratch instead of buying what amounted to an incredibly expensive install base.
