Pretty sure Elon is cooking up ads that are part of the site UI and not tweets that can be blocked.

I always had my adblockers hiding promoted tweets (or the good ol' days of tweetdeck) so it was never an issue here, but I'm surprised the ads didn't operate that way already all this time.
Not that their subject matter options in the profile menus ever did fuck-all for trying to curate the kind of content it throws at you anyways, but that's been a problem for years before the takeover.

I finally locked it to stop the bots, don't like being locked but I don't see another way. Maybe they'll pick a different target after a few weeks.

The tweet was

"Just about every reply I make now produces a handful of new bot followers who like the reply and follow me. No matter how much blocking I do they keep popping up, been going on for weeks now. This site is awful, @elonmusk really is ruining shit." with this screenshot (just the bots that followed over a few hours yesterday afternoon)

Oh well it turns out Twitter reactivated my account anyway

I told Jesse Kelly he should dig a hole and jump in, and then when I was auto-banned I filled in the appeal box with "I'm not removing anything, and you should shoot yourself in the face in front of your parents so they'd at least be proud of something you did for once."

Just got an email that I was banned by mistake and full access has been restored.
