YouTube is banning anti-vaxx covid videos.

t said any videos that contradict expert consensus from local health authorities, such as the NHS or World Health Organization, will be removed.

"A Covid-19 vaccine may be imminent, therefore we're ensuring we have the right policies in place to be able to remove [related] misinformation," the Google-owned service said in a statement.

It said it would remove any suggestions that the vaccine would:

• kill people
• cause infertility
• involve microchips being implanted in people who receive the treatment

YouTube said it had already removed 200,000 dangerous or misleading videos about the virus since February.

The article revealed emails and photographs that the New York Post claimed were copied from the laptop of Joe Biden's son, Hunter Biden.

Twitter said the story had violated its "hacked materials" policy, but later changed its stance.

Facebook had limited its spread in the news feed while it was fact-checked.

Now, 12 Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee have voted to compel the two chief executives to testify about their handling of the matter.

Ten democrats sat out the session in protest over an earlier vote on Amy Coney Barrett's Supreme Court nomination.

it's largely futile because the Republicans don't give a shit, but according to the rules there are supposed to be two or more minority party members present to call a vote or something along those lines

The committee technically needs at least two members of the minority party to conduct any business, per Judiciary Committee rules, but Republicans can change those procedural rules and hold a vote despite not having enough Democrats to form a quorum, a tactic Graham has used in the past.
