So basically Elon makes a bid to buy Twitter at $44 Billion ($54.20/share). He has to leverage his shares of Tesla in order to do this, but he is limited to how many shares of Tesla he can sell/leverage. Tesla stock valuation sinks due Elon being Elon, then claims he basically didn't do his DD on Twitter and says that Twitter has more than 5% bots and wants to put the sell on hold because the 5% value to him seems low and wants to prove that it is higher so he can buy the stock lower. He's also trying to offer a sell of SpaceX stock to employees at $70/share to cover the cost.

In 2017 it was estimated at 8-15% so that number has most likely grown. But even at those levels you are looking at about 47 million bots.
