I remember one of the interviews talking about how legs are hard in VR which is why everyones a floating torso so maybe I checked out there on this lol. But damn, thats even more depressing.

Keep in mind that shit has to run on phone-hardware at a very high resolution at 72fps minimum. They probably kept the avatar rendering budget low so they could focus on the user-made maps not running garbage.
Probably will see a v2 pass of them in the future when the current hardware is phased out. The Oculus avatars on PC used to be pretty damn ugly initially also before they upgraded it.

VRChat is available natively on the Quest2 and it’s light years ahead of this, visually, functionally, content wise. But that didn’t happen overnight I know lol, Idk if they’re available on the Quest 1 though, that could be holding it back.

Still ugly tho.

VRChat has a very low population limit on Quest, stutters a lot, looks like complete ass compared to PC, and deals with avatar/world packages that are pre-compiled. The impression I get with Horizon is you can build/script shit all within the game itself, which if so, that has to incur a performance cost to be mindful of unless you want tiny maps, which is part of the problem Rec Room has which also allows user generated content from within the game.

Yah, NEOS has some insanely advanced tools but I can’t confirm you can even get those on anything but PCVR <_<, or attest to its stability.

I hope they do a graphical pass when they phase out quest 1 cause idc how sophisticated the tools are I’m not floating around in a game that looks like bootleg Roblox had a baby with the uncanny valley Xbox avatars regardless of how good the tools are
