The irony being twitter actually wasn't working as is; the company has hemmoraged money for almost it's entire life. It has cash flow, but the companys entire model was to find some sucker to buy it for more than it's worth one day and sure enough someone did. That’s exactly what I thought it was for. So at least that way, you know the account is from a real public figure. But now if anyone can get a blue check mark and others don’t know this, accounts can be imitated. Then again this could be a fun thing…make a fake Donald Trump account get verified and then post whatever.
