The conceptual mutiny is to basically fight the fact people can buy a fake identity to seem more legit on the platform.

Twitter's current verification process is dumb and broken, but this is not a replacement. For now, I'd say there's nothing stopping someone from just rotating through names and handles under the pending system, either. (expect changing those to cost money soon, because, y'know)

Because everyone of those well to do idealists has an image they try to uphold, but not when it bothers them. Being for free speech in principle is a notch in the old belt, but you know, only for the right sort of free speech.

It was never about free speech. It's always been about a billionaire (Musk) having control over a source of media or news sharing outlet in order to further their own agenda/personal gains, like every other billionaire (Bezos, Murdoch, etc). Anyone with half a brain knew Musk was full of shit when he preached about bringing free speech to twitter and blah blah
