With all that talent out in the market now, only way for Twitter to collapse is if someone props up a new alternative. We've seen platforms overshadowed by Twitter, but this is a ripe time to soak up that vested knowledge and create a better program.
If there isn't strong creative control or direction from new/existing app designers then we'll probably end up watching Twitter muck along as everyone just accepts their social media fate.
Ars Technica's take on today's events

"Less than half of the company's remaining roughly 4,000 employees chose on Thursday to stay at the company and sign up for Musk's 'Twitter 2.0,'" Business Insider reported last night, citing "a person familiar with the company's processes."
I can't wait to see what Elon does next.
I've had loading issues on Twitter, but the laughs have been top tier. I'm just waiting to see what happens when people start trying harder to fuck with it while it's operating with a skeleton crew.
Good thing all those immigrants on visas can't just up and quit, eh?

Lots of shitposting and fake success stories on Linkedin recently but its where you find your job if you utilize it correctly. Also perfect opportunity to snapshot companies, their culture, what type of employees they have and their background. Long story short it can be super useful.
About Elon…well threatening people w/ their jobs could work back in 2010 but most people, especially those that were employed at twitter level have a safety net they can fall on. Worst case scenario is that they’ll simply find another work.
He should’ve first created an environment where employees feel they are part of something greater, establish “trust” then demand them to turn into lemmings.
Hell yes, Shadowbanning is back on the menu boys!

Good thing he's got a fraction of the staff he used to, that should be easy to implement and maintain.

Twitter going the way of Tumblr and their female presenting nipple ban.
I'm sure it's fun to assert Twitter won't implode because it hasn't yet, but let's not pretend Musk has our backs here.
Thread I found earlier basically outlining dozens of likely inevitable issues should he stay his course of mass firings and employee unfriendly practices. Hardware and coding issues aside, there are a number of factors that can snowball.

TLDR: If you don't have people that know the system inside and out and something goes wrong, you are fucked.
