This whole thing with Musk is going to be something for the books. I mean, he really has a pretty large ego and has a lot of fans and surrounds himself with yes men/women who don't really rein in his bullshit. There is talk now about how his antics are starting to damage the Tesla brand, and this talk about him "creating a new phone" if Twitter gets kicked off the app store is pretty fucking laughable. I'll be the first to admit, I used to like the guy for what he did for EV's, but at this point I just want him to fail hard so he can learn a lesson or two...in other words he's been fucking around for too long and it's high time he found out.

I mean, he's pretty much the stereotypical bad boss that takes the credit for the work of others. He's not literally building EVs, rockets, maintaining twitter servers, or legit gonna build a phone (and probably off an Android derivative if he does). The idea some push that we wouldn't have EVs without him just spits at the general idea of fiction motivating technological advances while funding holds the able minds back.

We've had it out about Elon in his other thread a few times and my contention has always been that he's a better hype man than engineer. It has never been clear to me that he's even technically inclined and not just a decent accountant willing to place big bets.
