Probably because aside from protesting/advocating for nuclear disarmament, there's nothing you personally can do if Russia decides to drop a bomb. It's like worrying about a plane crashing into your house or any of the other myriad ways you could randomly die on any given day.

Nobody can avoid the foreign policy monolith perspective afforded to us by the entire US media - it's not like people are only getting their Syria views from Chapo lol. What made the episode so interesting was the guest John Dolan's perspective, not the hosts blowing each other. From everything I know about you, even if you disagreed with parts of what Dolan says, I think you'd find it interesting.

aight Fiye hooked up that ep and i gave it a go while working out. i still don't understand the appeal of the show, the three hosts appear to be experts on nothing and are most knowledgeable about twitter personalities, nor are they especially funny (tho Caliphate with Chinese characteristics did make me laff he was the best among them).

as to Dolan, clearly extremely knowledgeable, but like the rest of the cast imbued with such deep-rooted anti-Americanism his conjectures wander off into Alex Jonesian territory. him stating he didn't know if chemical weapons were actually being used to kill civilians en masse in Syria (who is using them is one argument, a fairly clear one, but an argument at the least) because battlefields are dirty places and explosions are chemical reactions absolutely beggared belief. it was such a monstrously idiotic statement it made me question my non-belief in God for how could anything other than omnipotent design produce such stupidity.

but still, the man knows his stuff and if it helps you lot understand the sectarian divide by pointing out the Alawites are not only a heresy of a heresy and Apartheid-style tyrants but also seen as Vichy for their collaboration with the colonial French Mandate perhaps not all is lost.

Honestly I really bristled at the part where Dolan said with such delight that the CIA station chief that was kidnapped, tortured and murdered in Lebanon gave up all his secrets under torture. Pretty fucking ghoulish assertion without evidence.
