Yeah I've actually wanted it to come for switch so I can give it another go. I don't feel like digging the discs and WiiU out. It's got a lot of content and a lot of exploration that I like that XC2 kind of left out in comparison to the other 2.

X has the worst story (the game feels much less narratively driven than the others), but the best gameplay, imo.

For the most part, the gameplay is similar, except X adds mecha on top of it.

I remember being very upset at the ending payoff, but it's been so long I don't really remember why.. I think it has some great areas and some pretty damn good music to go with, but it's hard to beat XC1 with that. A remake of X has huge potential to full out the areas that were a little bare boned and uninteresting. Maybe touch up some of the story, cut out some silly fetch, or update them to make them better.

My other gripe is how a lot of the character side quest content is locked behind Affection or w/e levels and those are annoying as hell to farm

Yeah, as much as I love XC 1 and 2, X always just felt a lesser game story/character wise. Silent protagonist definitely did not help. It felt like such a strange direction to take it after XC 1 with how much I liked Shulk for them to just.....not have a protagonist anymore. The weird tacked on "multiplayer" type stuff was also really bizarre. Gameplay and exploration were definitely great in XC X though.

If you have other systems, you may be able to find it cheaper in another sale. I picked it up a few months ago for $10 on PS4.
