In the lead up to the 20th anniversary of KINGDOM HEARTS in 2022, SQUARE ENIX® and Disney today announced that 10 magical KINGDOM HEARTS titles will make their long-awaited debut on Nintendo Switch as three standalone cloud releases. The streaming versions of KINGDOM HEARTS, the best-selling action RPG series, will be available to purchase individually and as the all-in-one KINGDOM HEARTS INTEGRUM MASTERPIECE for Cloud collection.

The notable KINGDOM HEARTS franchise was first released in 2002 by SQUARE ENIX, and led by legendary game director Tetsuya Nomura, thus launching the longstanding collaboration between SQUARE ENIX and Disney. Since then, over 35 million copies have shipped worldwide. Nintendo Switch players, who have eagerly awaited the arrival of the series’ back catalog on the platform will now be able to join Sora, Donald, Goofy, and many other Disney characters on adventures through the “Dark Seeker Saga,” spanning from the original KINGDOM HEARTS to the critically acclaimed KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind (DLC).

20/year was excusable considering the game lineup you got. 50/year (and pricing it relative to Live and PS+) needs more than N64 and Genesis games now. Have to improve online functionality before I would bite.

I get that GBC/GBA/GC will likely be added under this NSO+ stuff, but pricing it relative to competitors really needs to bring the online stuff up to par now as well.

You can get it even cheaper if you have no issues with grey market codes being sold on r/gamesale

I typically see 3 month GamePass Ultimate sold for 25-30 and PS+ is typically in the 25-35 dollar range as well.

You can get 1 year PS+ codes for $40 around the holidays. I think Newegg usually runs that, as well as Best Buy.

Nintendo shooting themselves in the foot here. It's $64.99 in Canada (for a single-person plan), $100 for family plan, compared to PS+ being $69.99. They're going to have to add actual modern games to the mix instead of DLC rentals for games I don't own for me to bite. Even when splitting it with a sibling, I'm not sure I want to pay $50 a year for emulating old games I can already play on my PC.

Total garbage, you can get most the those Genesis games for like 30 bucks, less during a sale, on the eshop or steam etc. Forever, not for rent. As for the 64 games I can just use my actual 64 or the 3DS remakes so there's personally nothing in the expansion worth more than the base $20 let alone $50. Knowing the games industry you probably only rent the Animal Crossing DLC with the sub rather than get it for paying for a year. At least it's standalone if that's the case. Sheesh.

Edit: Ok apparently it is only a rental for the DLC with NSO expansion. Literally no reason not to just buy it outright unless you only want to try it and love n64 so much you'd pay $50 for it.

If it really is one opportunity to vote with your wallet and show that this is super anti-consumer and a rip off, it is this one. But i’m very sure there will be a ton of bozos actually thinking this is a good deal and will give nintendo undeserved money. They’re never fixing the infrastructure, they don’t even deserve $20 a year when the games were online play for free until this shitty service came along, not a single improvement on the infrastructure.

On top of having that expensive ass n64 switch controller? Fuck them, seriously. You get a ton more value with game pass, and you get games on xbox and pc.

$50 a year would have to include just about the entire GameCube and N64 library with some GBA and Wii thrown in there for me to care. You've got game pass out here giving brand new $60-70 day 1 releases and Nintendo tryna charge for a small handful 20 year old games (some of which even have superior remade/remastered versions on newer consoles) that most of us have already played to death.
