You act like there is no gameplay outside of the turn based combat lol. You can literally walk around and let your Pokemon fight without going into a battle. And that shit was sluggish as hell at times. Also, if you move at any speed above walking speed, the game struggled to keep up with loading assets on screen and is a stuttering mess, which is kind of a big deal in a game that introduced one of the more open ways to explore the world in the Miraidon/Koraidon mounts. The feeling of all that affects the player's experience.

I have it opened up on my PC right now just so that I wasn't remembering it wrong and making it seem worse than it actually was.

There's a lot I enjoyed with the game, and I agree that it's one of the better ones with everything they introduced in this game, but to pretend that none of its performance issues matter because it's turn based is dumb.


Also, a quick side note that has nothing to do with the above: Playing SV right now to remind myself of its issues made me realize that Pokerogue has ruined me lol. Anything slower than its 5x speed seems so slow now. I wish the official games had a way to speed it up.

I'm gonna gloat so hard if that Xenoblade X remaster runs like shit on the switch btw so sick of the meme comparison shots because clearly I should not be having fun with a game if it doesn't work 100 people to death producing pretty screenshots.

I don't recall any issues from when I played Xenoblade Chronicles 2 which is MUCH more graphic intensive than Pokemon. It's not a Switch problem, it's a developer problem.

S+ V on release was seeing single digit fps in some spots while looking like shit, how anyone can defend that shit is beyond me. I don't care what type of game it is, stuff like that is unacceptable. If it was just some drops like other switch games whatever, but it was was worse than that. Hell Pokemon Arceus was basically the same type of game and didn't run like that.

Just started watching so I'm behind, but happy about the Raidou remaster (although I already heard the rumours about this), I played a bit on the ps2, but never finished and was recently thinking about coming back to this series

Sucks they're not including Devil Summoner 2 with it given the two games shared 90% of the same assets, and likely will remain the case if they do the sequel separately here. Is nice that it looks more substantial of a remaster than SMT3, which basically just got some QOL and voice acting from what I recall. Surprised they weren't working on SMT1/2 given those have yet to have a western release. You can still buy nearly all of the PS2 SMT games on a PS3 for ten bucks a pop.
