This. Other than Splatoon 2 I don't know of any Nintendo game with online co-op that isn't hot garbage.

Isn't Splatoon 2 just a case of the netcode trusting each player? Which is the reason why cheating worked in the first place iirc.

I should do some Googling, but I'm curious how that Japan-only streamed version of RE7 ("Cloud Version") was on Switch for folks in that country. Nintendo's probably going to be a generation behind regardless unless they hire a third-party to do all the heavy lifting for them.

I'm not too familiar with networking. Just going by my experience with Splatoon and other first party games like Smash/Super Mario Maker

Sure wish I could utilize the Y-comm in Pokemon still.

It's the inevitable pro Switch. I'm betting we'll see something that isn't portable and much more powerful, which would be neat for people that don't care about the portability and just want a good home console experience. At times the current hardware fails at delivering that. Though unless they do something about the online infrastructure, the bare bones shop and experience devoid of other platform standards I don't know how good it's going to get. Keeping the current portable format with an increase in power is going to be tricky with cooling and such. The switch has one whole ass fan if I remember right.

I wonder if they'll have any sort of upgrade program.. Launch consoles are expensive as hell right now thanks to custom firmware.

A new Pokemon entrant wouldn't make sense yet though, you're right. We're just at that Feb deadline zone and any announcement could be the DLC 5 drop.
