Mario Golf made me happy, though the courses looked pretty devoid of Mario themes and felt pretty bland. Here's hoping the final game isn't that way. And 35th anniversary of Zelda and this all we get? Ooph.

That Pyra/Mythra SSB trailer got me. I kept thinking they were making like Xenoblade 2-2 or something.

Real excited for Project Triangle Strategy. I thought Octopath was pretty disappointing overall, but interested where they will go with basically a different genre and hopefully better story.

Mario Golf looks pretty fun, with an interesting new mode added to it.

Always hyped for more Monster Hunter Rise trailers.

And fuck Skyward Sword. Hopefully we get better Zelda game announcements later in the year.

Edit: Almost forgot about Age of Calamity expansion pass announcement. Hyped for that since I loved the game.

I was actually hoping for a Pneuma appearance by the end of the trailer, and have Rex be a Pokemon Trainer type character.

Interesting that it was not called FP9 though. That has me wondering if this is how Nintendo will handle DLC separate from the FP. 1st party focus with maybe a $3.99 price point.

Edit: Nevermind, I see where they were named FP9. Scratch that. Double Edged sword in that Spirits were promoted again, but Rex as a Mii Costume was not.

I'm happy that SE is using the Octopath model to explore what their bread and butter roots are.

Metroid is now surprisingly absent as the rumors are starting to boil over regarding Prime Trilogy and whatever the 2D entry is.

I didn't expect any Pokemon. That'll will come with the Post Malone concert.

So I don't get how they expect us to be fine with no BotW2 news, but then say development is going smoothly. Somethings not fitting right. I would expect a Zelda focused anniversary direct for the meat of Zelda 35.

Splatoon 2 to me was kind of a "what can we get done quickly for a Switch title" type of sequel. Splatoon 3 will hopefully let them refine some online and gameplay elements in a non-rushed format and deliver a true sequel that didn't feel like Splatoon 1.5.

Still so much missing that's been rumored for so long, but I think overall this is the end of what Nintendo pushed back from 2020. Going forward sounds like they're back on an intended schedule.

Also of note, Camelot doesn't seem to be developing Mario Golf. Golden Sun something may still be in the works.

The less spoilers the better for newer players. The game isn't that old, and that character comes up so late in the game (end of chapter 7). Xenoblade community as a whole actively goes out of their way to avoid spoiling new players (calling characters by number based on when they join, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Seven. Would be a shame for Smash to spoil yet another game for others (Xenoblade 1, Fire Emblem: 3H).

Didn't Xenoblade 2 already get a stand-alone story expansion? Still waiting on them to bring over XCX and then resell the 3 games as a steelcase'd bundle to rope me in.
