That's not an issue with LBGT since orientation is not necessarily an immediately discernible physical thing. There's no reason we can't believe gay actors playing straight characters OR vice-versa. So the *only* argument here is representation. That creates a conflict when representation goes head to head with other priorities. It's easy to say that you should cast Terry Crews instead of The Rock when the role calls for black muscle regardless of star power. It's harder to say you should cast an unknown trans actor instead of ScarJo.

no this doesn't mean that every movie has to include some potpourri of character demographics so that everyone gets equal representation, but if a character is written as part of the story to be gay or transsexual and it's actually important to the character, then it's also important to the film industry and people trying to make a living from it that gay or transsexual actors get a chance to audition for that role.

In what context? I think it's fair, if you have a permanent address in the country and it is your primary address then your children should be citizens. If you just happen to be in the country and your child is born then I don't know if that child should be considered a citizen.

That kind of rule would create major issues with citizenship very quickly, leading to a new class of stateless people, the creation of which is barred by a UN treaty of which the United States is a signatory.

And what if the original country does not recognize the child as a citizen in that context? What do you do with a human who belongs to no nation, has no guaranteed rights or nation to go home to because it popped out of the oven too quickly?

Being a citizen of the nation you're born tackles this, and has the added benefit of not being a big deal for 99% of the population because the majority of people stay in their home area when they're about to give birth. Not doing this would literally create a refugee crisis within your own border.
