again, they aren't nazis

they are a different hateful thing that american society owns

and most, I assume, are good ignoramuses that cba to be socially responsible and switch team affiliation in this polarized political environment

but they still own everything they voted and vote for

I should say that I see the same potential for an extreme group to become ascendant within the Democratic party. I don't think Democrats are more independent or less tribal on net, just that they happen to be less terrible from a policy perspective at the moment.
