The "alt-left" are just people who are mean to straight, white, CIS males. At their most extreme, they go out and protest fascism as masked anti-fa. In the very worst nightmares of Nynja and Groggle, they take over and invert the current system and make straight, white, males a disadvantaged class.

The "alt-right" actively campaigns for the establishment of a white ethnostate. At their most extreme, they have gone out in demonstrations and literally gotten someone killed.

This distinction was recognized for what it was by a straight, white, CIS male conservative (both socially and fiscally) with extensive capitalist qualifications.
