They're still filming this right now despite the writers strike (I'd imagine Reynolds' and Jackman's schedules are why), and since the strike is on, Reynolds isn't allowed to improvise at all with the script nor are any rewrites allowed. He has to be word perfect and I dunno if that's his schtick lol

Because he's a member of the writer's guild and any lines that he creates for a movie, he'd be credited for. Whether it's pre-written or improv. And doing so would count as crossing the picket line.

He's part of the writer's guild and considered a writer on the film (as he was for DP1 and DP2), so he's not actually allowed to make changes to the script while the writers are on strike. And him improvising would technically be him making changes to the script. Producers and directors are allowed to make minor adjustments to the script before or during principal photography (like, slightly tweaking a line, not improvising a totally new line). But as a show of solidarity with the writers, even that practice has been asked to be curbed until the strike is over
