The first 20-30 minutes felt a bit rushed to me. As such, I did feel like I didn't care about the characters enough to be emotionally invested when things happened to them. I did think Gemma Chan and Richard Madden killed it though. I ended up liking most of the characters except maybe Salma Hayek since she was in the movie for so little. There were also a lot of different themes in the movie that was touched on, but not forced that I really liked. Duty versus personal ideology(Ikarus versus Sersi), the omnipotence and importance of the Celestials(who are basically gods) versus the value of average people, the duality of humanity being creative and destructive, and probably more that I'm not remembering now.
