been saying it for a while, a chloe zhao movie is uh...worlds away from an MCU movie. even after a little bit of feige finessing this is still going to be a chloe zhao joint and i really dont think it's gonna translate well, critically or commercially

I'd honestly assume it's even worse then the early reviews imply considering reviewers and awards shows told us Nomadland was good and well... that movie was hot fucking garbage.

I had a feeling that releasing a new film with literally a dozen new heroes that the general public knows very little about and even most comic fans are ambivalent about was going to be a challenge. This is gonna go the way of Inhumans. Spiderman still gonna make a shitload of money though.

Yeah, even obscure (at the time) characters like the GoTG had some major fanboys from older comic runs, self included.

I don't know if anyone has ever actually cared about the Eternals in any way. Like I remember Marvel trying to hype them up for a ongoing series back in 08 and it got cancelled after only 9 issues cause no one gave a shit and it sold like crap. There are offshoot characters from the Eternals that matter (like Mentor, who is the father of Thanos), but the main group of characters are just worthless.

Inhumans have been far far more present in the comics over the years, they just completely botched the on screen transition.

I just got out of it and enjoyed it for the most part. It was, to me at least, by far the most different Marvel movie thus far. My only complaint is that it DID drag a bit, but I was never not at least visually entertained. Also, to no one's surprise, there are two after credit scenes.
