i talked over w my wife she'd didn't even want a diamond, she did our birthstones in a pretty sweet looking ring. got pretty lucky when we got engaged/married, we spent the money on honeymoon and home stuff, no regrets

Reminds me I still need to take my wife on a honeymoon. Problem is we have nowhere to go. We just visit places we're interested in as it is. Living in Europe and visiting Australia often has ruined honeymooning!
