Community pools are fucking awesome. We don't have one out here in BK but we do have a Y with a solid pool that I have been going to during the week. It's gonna turn into a nightmare once school gets out next week though.

I would love to upgrade to a detached home, but then I remember how small the yards are out here and have told my husband before idk if I can live without a pool within walking distance.

I was super close to getting us a place in a building with a pool but it's expensive and they are never good actual swimming pools. They are like wading pools with lots of chairs. Also they get overrun pretty quickly.

Fun fact:

We almost bought a different house in this complex that was 23k more than this home. During escrow we ran into a wall with the sellers as the house needed a lot of plumbing repairs and they wouldn't budge on the price. This house popped up for much less and was in much much much better condition so we switched over.


Turns out the complex has three pools and if we had gotten the first home, their pool had no jacuzzi. This home's pool does.

This one is lit. deep end, jacuzzi, and bathrooms right there.


Only downside (super minor) is I guess the HOA bought a bunch of lounge chairs and they all ripped last year, so there's only a few plastic chairs.

I keep meaning to write and suggest like wooden lounge chairs instead of those cheap ass ones, but haven't done it yet.

Bought a home this past October. After finishing the basement in the next few months, gonna get all the permits for a jacuzzi install. Literally the next day probably.

yeah, same. Idk if they'd pay for it. The chairs they had bought I think were sold at Big lots (at least I saw them there), so cheap.


Each complex section has a little play structure area, my section got rid of theirs apparently over ten years ago to replace, and they never ended up replacing it.

I thought at first about writing a letter to ask about that to, then decided not to. Usually those play structures at homes/apts, suck and for w/e reason the sand/woodchips/whatever are so low compared to the slide the kids go flying and hurt themselves.
