yuppp
Our 10 year old TV is insufferable. Speakers buzz. 2 HDMI ports that only work when they feel like it.
Picking up an LG C8 this weekend, but I'm mad I can't buy a modern dumb tv. Like I want all the top tier colors and 20 HDMI ports but none of the internet enabled wifi and bluetooth nonsense.
they don't cost much, just turn that shit off. P sure you don't need to use it at all.
yeah shit is annoying, i bit the bullet and got a smart tv, we went with TCL very affordable, been fine so far
TCL is k, Vizio is legit AF.
you can, but they're hard to find. fiancee and i found one about a year ago. vizio. we did have to make a sacrifice on hdmi ports, but with the right gadgets 3 is plenty.
but yeah, i hate smart TVs. I'm going to hook my desktop up to it anyway so the dinky little built-in computer is entirely outclassed.
Vizio and TCL don't really exist here. All my research for UK said C8 or be disappointed.
Hard lesson to learn when buying a tv: check what buttons there are actually in the tv.
We learned the hard way that ours ended up ONLY having one button (controls power and menu.
So you need the remote to change the volume.
And the remote is tiny as shit.
Apparently this is becoming more and more common.
all my shit goes on the big screen. my old man eyes need it
i sit close enough to my monitors that theyre still fine for most things. i really only use the TV for a handful of games on PC. FFXIV, Dark Souls, Subnautica. Usually if I'm using a controller to play, I prefer to put it on the big screen.
it's nice to have the option, and there is literally nothing a smart TV can do that my desktop or xbone can't do objectively better. so fuck smart TVs, is the point.
nah. we're just hobbyists looking down on the clueless masses.
people who type "let that sink in" at the end of the tweet are the worst human beings to ever exist
idk man just let it sink in.
oh now i see thx
