Well, if it's anything like Kentucky, I can have the kids significantly more often and provide their health care, yet still have to pay child support and allow her to claim all kids on taxes. All because I make significantly more money than she does. Kentucky is great!

To be fair, we agreed to split the kids at tax time, but the law would allow her to claim all 4. But I pay a ton in child support despite having the kids about 60% of the time while in school and almost 70% during the summer.

McDonald's CEO Steve Easterbrook has been fired for dating a coworker. He will receive a $37M severance package and he has agree not to work for a competitor for two years.

The US fast food giant said the relationship was consensual, but Mr Easterbrook had "violated company policy" and shown "poor judgement".

In an email to staff, Mr Easterbrook acknowledged the relationship and said it was a mistake.

"Given the values of the company, I agree with the board that it is time for me to move on," he said.

He will be replaced by Chris Kempczinski, most recently president of McDonald's USA, with immediate effect.

In a statement, Mr Kempczinski thanked Mr Easterbrook for his contributions, adding: "Steve brought me into McDonald's and he was a patient and helpful mentor."

One dude I know of is pretty much single-handedly responsible for the policies that made DoJ come after the company he worked for, signed a contract 30+ years ago so when he left he still walked away with tens of millions.

Competent and well connected CEO (politically is S+ class) is worth his or her weight in gold. Company I used to work for went through a bankruptcy and 3 CEOs within like 5 years, each one had a different task. One was hired just to axe people and benefits, the other to sell/buy assets and the third for slow sustain with no workforce morale and low staff numbers. It was fun, because each one of them was clearly using the company to earn and repay favors for their own persona. Like, did we really need to change company card/travel agencies and IT support companies every time we got a new CEO? Ah corporate life, I miss you not.

Well yeah I assumed that as well I just don't know why they put that provision in the contract it seems really FUCKING stupid. If you mess up and need to be fired for doing something you weren't supposed to then you should get nothing. Severance packages are for when you leave amicably because the company is changing directions or other stuff.
