    I would legit spend anything it took to get 7* Fran. not even kidding. she's the one unit I'd do that for

    Mist Overload Fran would be so fucking awesome

    edit: I'm an idiot, I totally forgot I could escape cheese LGD. THE PARTY IS BACK ON... doesn't even take too long with a good friend unit; 100% evade Chorizo is just insurance really

    Should've been UoCs but instead just most of the same stuff that is in everyone... which is fine with me I still got some people to awaken to 6* waiting on stuff and need a couple of crysts but yeah not gunna crazy farm it like the time they had a 120k item I actually wanted. DW is nice since I only have a couple

    Yeah, I kinda wtf'd at this, too. Objectively, I thought to myself, does this mean, like... dark or black magic? Start the fight, first given ability has the dark icon. Okay, do I use it? Just using Fina's other attack isn't taking much off her HP here, so okay. I use it. So on and so forth the fight goes, then Arcane Magics pops up. "Okay, she's still got like 40% HP left, but objective said not to..." so I used it just in case this might've been a translation error. Shit's happened before. Lowers DF's HP, then the turn counter bugs out and the fight ends. Objective failed. Fine. Whatever. Redo the fight, ignoring mechanics until like 70%, then I start playing along. Eventually get to the AM phase and keep using the shining attack. Fight eventually ends, yay done.

    In the end, it's something people will probably want a level 80, at least, regular Fina for. I more or less put her character gear on her and some stray SPR stuff. Wasn't in any real danger even when DF chain nuked in protest, but I could understand some needing to pop a cure or two.

    I already had my fina at 6*, but I just stacked her with bunch spr and holywand. The fight itself I just dualcasted holy every turn and got full completion.

    250 pull, 2nd Fina

    you know, I'm really starting to warm up to her even though I have Ayaka. Divine Veil is amazing and Ayaka has nothing that compares to it, plus her damage is enough to take out a few of the LGD rounds even without a friend unit. she won't be on offense during any trial-level battles (Divine Veil might also fall in relevance at that point), but outside of that her flexibility is an incredible asset.

    so yeah, Ayaka is arguable the better pure healer (especially at 7*) but how often does that really matter? Fina brings so much to the table. in any case, I have both now at dupe status so whatever LOL

    So I don't have a full party of CG units and geared up Chizuru for my last spot. I put full TDH gear on her and she's sitting at 1.6k attack. I still remember when she was my best unit, and I had just broke 400 attack on her, thinking that was strong as hell. Times sure have changed...

    Pulled IcyHot Lassworm yesterday.

    Anni ticket got me Eiko, who I'm actually happy about.

    I have Ayaka too, and yeah, in terms of pure healer she's top tier. But I'm thinking someone like Eiko can fill that role for now too.

    Figure I'll get Fina eventually, cause game likes throwing healers at me.

    PG Lasswell is actually a pretty decent unit despite being a DW finisher. His LB is really good as well as the finisher it unlocks. And he gets a DR chainer and TDW at 7*.

    Frick Carbuncle 3* was a patient fight. Took me about 4 attempts to nail this party down. Wilhelm, Basch, Barb x2, Ariana, SakuraFriend. I can imagine I can do it with 5 by getting rid of my finisher but it’d take so long... even in his dark form.

    Had to pray stop didn’t land inn wilhelm or i’d be waiting it out to turn it dark cause I couldn’t risk provoke wearing off during death phases. Needed Basch and Wilhelm to double as buffer and de buffers, I feel sorry for anyone without flexible tanks...

    I can see why finishers aren’t meta outside of turn 1 cheeses. These fights require so many roles to be filled or rely on luck. There’s little room for heroes who do only one thing.

    I took 1 look at the Carbuncle fight breakdown and noped my way straight to the close app button. It's on the small pile of shit I'll probably wait until 7* meta to deal with. I've never used Carby anyways, and I have eMarie, so he can keep his shitty reflect. (Generally any time people talk about Setzer fixed damage being a viable strategy I lose interest pretty quickly.)

    I used the Setzer strat and he was dead pretty quickly, super easy. Setzer /w as much Beast Killer as possible (and wind weapon), eZarg (any support will do), Basch with light resistance, wind chainers (Lexa and Barb friend in my case).

    His Light phase is so weak its adorable, very easy to set up for the dark phase and deal damage. Sakura was the ideal finisher for me because she could also deal dark damage, but you'd probably bring Diabolos anyway cause of the mission but... yah... All of his abilities and BS really boiled down to "But did it kill you tho" for me, and while the fight took me 4 attempts it was nailing down what was necessary and what I could do without.

    If it can help anyone here, the longer but still brief rundown of how I won was as follows.

    Wilhelm - Fully enhanced (Was my first tank) - Primary Use: Provoke Tank with Safety Bit for taking Death during Dark phase as well as taking all negative status ailments. Secondary Use: DEF/ATK Buffs.
    Basch - Geared for Light Resist and SPI for Magical Tanking. AoE Cover tank. - Secondary use: Atk/Mag breaks.
    Barbx2 - Chaining with Tornado, which cannot be reflected. Also used as MP Battery if needed.
    Ariana - My best healer. Reraise on Basch/Wilhelm just in case, buffs if needed.
    BSSakura - Finisher, Build up full stacks of Final Thunder before changing him to dark mode. Secondary: getting him dark.

    During my first Dark phase, Basch needed Reraise every turn, Thankfully Ariana can double cast her Reraises, buffs, or cures all in one turn. It only lasts a few turns (2?) so once he goes back into light mode its really really easy to recover. Before pushing his Dark phase you can either let Basch not magic tank and get BS Sakura to counter her thunder debuff, or use the other thunder move to debuff his thunder resist for the extra umph in damage.

    Either way, It wasn't terribly hard once I nailed the set up down. I was just lucky I have good tanks who can do more than just tank. Two TranceTerra would probably be better magic chainers but I only have one and all my friends are set up for the Event.

    I put Safety bit on my Frye (Death in dark phase targets the highest INT player) and didn't bring a provoke tank. I think my group was:

    * Chow (Light resist doggo with stop-immunity buff)
    * LM Fina
    * CG Lid with Diabolos and Ring of the Lucii
    * Safety bit Frye with Ifrit
    * Friend Frye with Ifrit and a little less MAG

    Turn 1:
    * Chow - Magic Cover
    * CG Lid - Break Atk/Mag
    * LM Fina - Atk/elemental buff
    * Frye - FFB
    * Frye - FFB

    Turn 2~?:
    * Chow - maintain stop resistance and magic cover
    * LM Fina - Keep people alive, keep Regen buff up if there is nothing else to do
    * Fryes - Farm those crysts!
    * CG Lid - maintain Atk/Mag breaks and build LB/Esper gauge

    When you have the esper gauge full and LBs on CG Fina/Lid:
    * Chow - Use Magic Cover
    * CG Lid - Diabolos
    * LM Fina - LB
    * Fryes - Farm those crysts!

    Next turn (this is going to be a little rough):
    * Chow - Guard
    * CG Lid - LB
    * LM Fina - Dystopia
    * Fryes - Ice Block

    Next turn:
    * Fryes - FFB
    * LM Fina - heal people
    * CG Lid - Do whatever
    * Doggo - be good

    idk, as long as you survive the transition to dark mode then I think the fight is pretty easy. Took me something like ten turns. It might be better to use Ayaka with Diabolos as a healer.
