FFVIII event coming this week! Squall and Rinoa are getting GL buffs as expected (seems like Rinoa gets stronger MAG buffs and easier access to Triple, Squall gets TDH passive bonuses and TMR buffed as well with +10 ATK for 150 total), UoC ticket system is coming but they're still working on the details (they confirmed that we will be able to select units). I think they're gonna make it harder to get these tickets, not sure why but that's the vibe I get from their answer. Also reiterated that collabs are very hard to make because you need to have both sides agree on the details (they were specifically talking about KH, Nier and Chrono Trigger).

First 7* batch also coming this Friday: Wilhelm, Luneth, Seabreeze Dark Fina, Ramza, Orlandeau, Lightning, Olive, Dark Fina, Marie, Delita, Gilgamesh and Dark Knight Cecil. Some units will have changes compared to JP (guessing one is Marie considering her 7* is awful). Olive's Trust passive increases her LB (damage?) and she gets 2 cooldown abilities: AoE Entrust /w buffs and a strong attack with imperil fire/lightning attached.

Also new trials /w a new Chamber of Arms (Assassin Dagger) and Omega (iirc this was designed for parties with some 7* units).

Also the 2H sword from the VIII event has been massively buffed from 88 to 125 ATK. For a freebie that's incredible!

Got 4 units in this first batch I can upgrade to 7* but I don't think I will. Luneth, both dark fina's and Marie. If they buff Marie I might but we will have to wait and see. Anyone thinking about attending the fan festa? I'm gonna try since it's pretty damn close to where I live.

5 star ticket gave me CG Nichol #2 so he's ready for 7 star now. Looks like the my first 7 stars will be Marie and Greg. No dupes from the others on that list in my units.

Fuck them so much for not doing Tidus, of course they make me wait longer when I have all the gil and half the cactuars ready -_-. /Sigh, at least I can instead 7* Olive and get that 50% trust moogle.

5* EX was Seabreeze Dark Fina (nice TMR, too bad I have no one to use it on but her). Also caved and bought a 2nd ticket bundle and only got a 3rd SO 4* unit.

Waiting till Friday to use my 5* ticket. Long shot to get Squall/Rinoa I know, but ya never know...

Going to 7* Wilhelm, but probably not level up him for a while. I'm thinking of getting Ramza to lvl 110 at least, and hoping Marie gets some nice GL upgrades.

It’s not a robe, so it doesn’t benefit from dark fina’s tmr for example

I can get Orlandeau to 7*, but that means wasting moogles to get his TMR.
I can 7* Lightning, but same deal — somewhat less.

Both of their TMRs are garbage.

Lightning doesn't have chaining partners other than herself because they removed both of them from the first batch. Unless they make changes there she won't be able to chain with anyone but a dupe.
