I tried a pull on the 5% Nal banner just to see what happened and... nothing lol. You can add 11 extra summons to the "no rainbow" 5% pile I guess.
Wish this game had a pity pull system, this is getting ridiculous.

Whelp Tetra was super easy. Once again ignoring normal turns and focusing on pushing thresholds wins again
Decided I needed Great Raven Cape since I'm painfully grinding for rare as fuck power giancrysts and just found out I have 20ish keys to farm, including several locked behind quests, ugh.
Nothing but blues from the 5% free banner has annoyed the crap out of me. Then this morning/last night I completed item world enhancements on Fryevia’s needle and Deathtrap (gimme a second Fry ffs). Needle has 40% attack and Deathtrap got 10% MAG and 25% attack putting Fry at 1060 MAG and over 900 attack. Both got the rare ability as part of it, so she got a healthy boost to hp as well. I forgive the lack of rainbow luck. Another Kunshira would put attack damn near 1k as well. But again, rainbow luck.
Now to be utterly disappointed in my Brotherhood augments for the next several days
Did Rains great sword in case I ever get him and to counter the good rolls I got with my 2 excaliburs I got mediocre 5%hp and 12% spr. Not super bad but I hop I can get better ones.
Still getting poor rolls and back to blues again. Or not necessarily poor but opposite of what I want/need on it
Anyone have a high mag Dark Fina? Like say 1500+ with Malboro's tentacle using Ramuh?
Got the rare ability on floor 1 for Rinoa's TMR (HP/MP +15%), ended up getting decent side augs: MP +10 and MAG+7.
Mine's like 1450 Mag, but no tentacle. Just need to motivate myself to slog through trials some day.
Mines still 6* because I want to get progress on the unleveled one before I awaken... or at least wait till I have more KMM. Pretty sure with a dark fina like that and my Rinoa I could just plow thru diabolos while ignoring half it's mechanics.
Malboro is kind of easy nowadays if you go for a quick kill. Even pre 7* power creep had really done a bit of work on it. And olives just super wreck it now
daily rainbow #2: Squall
I mean... yay? I guess?
I shouldn't have, but I did some pulls on the step-up, plus a couple more 10+1 on the banner (I really wanted that last luneth!):
2 more delita, got STMR
4 more lightning for a second STMR
2 more luneth for his STMR
Olive is now sitting at 2360ATK.
Also, I've had shit luck with IW so far. Only rare I've seen was on a pair of Fixed Dice (probably one of the only times you wouldn't want the rare at all). I'm still hoping to deck out some of the STMR and TMR swords, but I know I won't have time/resources to get all the ones done I want. :/
Also, Hangin Edge event is great for gil. With a bunch of lightnings I'm getting over 100k gil per run worth of gears (these sell for 50g each). This is way more efficient than turtles farming.
by a couple do you mean 2 because if so you ran hot as fuck
I'd skimmed strats in the past, but just sort of thinking in the "What I need..." category it'd be something like:
1) Magic tank with Death Immunity (Chow or Mystea are my options here)
2) 2 Magic Chainers (Dark Fina, in my case, and perhaps a Barb or other DC Tornado'er)
3) SPR debuffer (Do have CG Lid)
4) Support for dark resist/heals?
5) Oravis' Olive or similar to kersplodey the chain.
Am I off base, or something I'm missing? Kinda figure turn 1 would have Olive do the AoE to cap off chain and lower main's fire resist, either killing the babies or close to it. Then hope turn 2 does the rest.
It took me about 6 turns or so total to clear it on my attempt, that fight really has been power creep'd.
1) magic tank completely unnecessary. MS Nichol dark resist buff is enough as long as you don't invoke the babies <10% moves which it's super easy to make sure you flat out kill them. While also providing buffs and healing. There's also no death move
2) Pretty much any DC tornado works. People were doing it with shantottos
3) Why? If you are capping chain with a physical it's going to be by far the bulk of your dmg... and besides main debuffs it's own spr/def more than you could every hope to. Guess maybe AoE to make it so your magic dds kill babies by themselves? Though her AoE debuff isn't the greatest could probably just use rikku's pouch at that point
4) See part 1
5) pretty much. Olive is going to be the largest dmg here and if you aren't going for full clear could just suicide if you have 2 but not sure her non suicide move would kill so if only have 1 might be a problem. I used Angs though. Pimp Ang can use LB to cap chain every turn (starting on 2 of course) killing babies and once big momma self debuffs taking huge chunks out of her too. Note mine is not pimp enough yet (though pretty good) used a friend though if you have 1 yourself the 2 together would probably be enough... and mine should be BiS within a couple of weeks if you wanted to use
6) provoke tank is kind of useful. Regular units can get beat down kind of hard. Doesn't have to be anything amazing though. Slimy boi was more than good enough
Part of it is also a lot of what they do makes it so stuff gets worse as fights go on... either just x number of turns, low hp moves and/or thresholds just much easier to plan around. I did a 4 turn full clear where 1 of my units could've been literally anything just needed someone to hold a Rikku's pouch that wasn't busy doing other stuff lol. And doing in 4 turns doing big dmg means you don't have to deal with any low hp moves of any of the mobs, any of the enfeebles, the snort move the aoe physical etc which means you can cut back on some support/tanking... letting you bring more dmg in to ensure you kill even faster. It's kind of amazing how many fights lend themselves to zerging where actually cutting things you need for survival works because bringing more dmg lets you avoid things that would kill you lol. Hardest part is trying to get all actions sequenced right to get missions done and managing exactly how much dmg you do sometimes to bring it to the right hp spots... thank god for resets
Well, no Nichol for me, so I'd more or less be Fina for Resists/PATK. If I don't need Lid, I could probably insert an alternative MAG buffer in her place, I guess. Just honestly unsure how quickly I'd take out the babies and I hate these fights being so high energy when I'd be more keen on experimenting otherwise.
