Intellivision Console: The Next Ouya Generation - 202?

Full Details coming October 1, 2018
Currently, we do know that its development is being spearheaded by Tommy Tallarico, Creator of Video Games Live and the current President of Intellivision Entertainment.

“I grew up playing Intellivision with my parents and younger brother. It was always my favorite system because the games were cutting edge, yet fun and simple to play so our entire family could enjoy them together. I find those important elements to generally be lacking from our industry with the current modern gaming consoles. Our goal is to change that by focusing on bringing all age groups and levels of gamers and non-gamers together while introducing new generations of people to the legacy success of the Intellivision brand.”
Tommy Tallarico reveal a bit more about the console in an interview with VentureBeat, saying that the console “will not try to compete with Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo” and that the console is “not trying to do 3D”. Games will be downloaded via wifi, and will be stored on an internal SD memory card.

In celebration of the 25th anniversary of Earthworm Jim, Intellivision Entertainment is proud to announce it has gathered together and reunited the original Earthworm Jim team to create a brand new video game adventure exclusively for the upcoming Intellivision Amico home video game console. Ten of the original programmers, artists, audio team and level designers are taking part in bringing back the uniqueness and humor of the Earthworm Jim series.

To celebrate the reunion with the fans, a 20 minute live interactive simulcast streaming event will take place on Saturday, May 4th at noon pacific during the first Earthworm Jim design meeting with the original team. As part of the live simulcast, the team will engage with fans to hear their new vision firsthand, multiple original art pieces will be hand-drawn by the artists, signed by the entire team and given away to people viewing the live stream. I always thought Tallarico's show on G4 was pretty fucking worthless.
Your opinions on games are trash, get your ass back in the recording studio.

So obviously this hasn't shipped and now the company has let the trademark expire. Probably dead.

    https://www.gamedeveloper.com/busine...doned-for-now-

As spotted by VGC, Intellivision was granted the trademark in September 2019 after submitting an application in October 2018.

The company has been attempting (and struggling) to relaunch the Amico as a retro console but has missed numerous deadlines, with the resulting uncertainty leading to an influx of pre-order refunds -- many of which are still being processed.

In June this year, newly-appointed Intellivision CEO Phil Adams confirmed the firm had laid off staff to reduce operating costs, and claimed the Amico will begin shipping later this year.

In the latest twist, however, the USPTO states the Intellivision Amico trademark has been abandoned since June 20, 2022, as a result of Intellivision's failure to submit a "Statement of Use," which shows how the trademark is being used in practice.

Given the Amico hasn't actually launched yet -- it was previously slated to hit shelves in 2021 -- Intellivision can't submit a Statement of Use and has instead focused on filing extension requests to keep hold of the trademark.

For reasons that remain unclear, the company hasn't filed an extension request since November 2021 and the trademark has now been abandoned.
