I think I fundamentally disagree. I'm not a Harry potter fan. I saw the first few movies and never read the books. I still think HL absolutely felts Starfield in almost every category. The atmosphere, charm, detail, and overall design of the world are just better in every way. I'd argue the writing is better in every way too, especially for side characters. Gameplay wise it's a bit of a wash though I didn't get bored as quickly frolicking the fields of Hogwarts and collecting wizard garbage as I did roaming empty planet #355b in Starfield's barren worldspace full of borderline AI generated quests and cardboard cutout NPCs.
This isn't to say that I think HL is a masterpiece. It is chaff in the wind compared to something like BG3. But compared to the soulless husk that is Starfield...? In my mind it is just better.

v1.9.47.0
Preview of the fixes for this month. Cleans up annoyances, but doesn't add any content, like detailed maps. A lot of skills will remain broken. Learned recently that the reload skill doesn't work if you have grenades equipped.
Supposedly all Xbox physical editions at Walmart are being zeroed out and destroyed this week.

Is that normal? Isn't it better to sell at a discount rather than throw away?
Not really unless it's such an absurd number.
Used to work at Fry's and they would always buy tons of shitty PS2/PS3 games for the purpose of bundling with consoles.

v1.9.67
GRAPHICS
- Added support for AMD FidelityFXTM Super Resolution 3 (FSR 3). (PC)
- Added support for Intel Xe Super Sampling (XeSS). (PC)
- Fixed an issue that could make the clouds appear to vibrate when using DLSS performance mode. (PC)
- Fixed minor visual artifact that could occur when aiming with a weapon or task swapping.
STABILITY
- Changed how FormIDs are freed when loading saves. This should improve stability for saves that have visited many locations.
- Fixed a crash that could happen when making changes to the ship that required all items to be moved to the cargo bay in the Ship Builder menu.
MISCELLANEOUS
- Reverted a change that caused the data menu to open when taking screenshots with F12 (PC)
- Fixed an issue causing the resolution scale to reset to 1.0 when switching from Fullscreen to Windowed mode when using DLSS. (PC)
A rumored 2.0 version along with a PS5 release coming April 7th.
They brought the Fallout 76 loot loop/grind to Starfield. Also, the story DLC is small, again.
I shall continue to pass
Looks like I waited for nothing, since it seems to address none of my complaints with the game. Well, least I can play it at 120fps nowadays compared to 30 when I originally got the game. (thx CPU pack-in)
Like god damn, would it kill them to at least improve the horrid menuing experience of the game? The act of going from quest menu to starchart to figure out what you need to do/where to go is aids.
[EDIT] I went and played another hour and a bit after not having touched it in awhile, and in that hour I experienced:
- A quest target in combat running into a wall endlessly, making for a free kill on something I had to dump 5 mags into since it was a little above my level/gear
- A couple storage containers on a planet weren't grounded and just floating 50ft into the air
- The starchart/quest thing still being as aids as I remember
- Being reminded that interior areas that aren't towns have no map, and are a bit mazey at times trying to find a route out.
The enemy AI is real bad in general and could use an upgrade. Oftentimes they just sit still and let you unload into them.
Unrelated to that, I turned on frame-gen out of boredom, and uh, at 144hz I could barely tell the input latency with boost turned on, wtf. Barely could notice the motion artifacts so I'll probably just leave it on so the GPU fans don't kick in audibly, and it let me engage DLAA without a problem.
I remember enjoying this game to an extent, but also not really liking the NG+ gimmick at all. Probably complained about it here already but yah, felt like the very drawn out gameplay concepts like building up colonies, supply routes, saving money and rafting your own special ship, all kind of fights with and is at odds with the central gimmick of the game and its NG+ mechanic.
The UI was also a nightmare, I recall fighting with side quests and such like you said, where simply getting to the right menu/star chart/etc always felt annoying.
Either way, maybe if it goes on super sale one day with Base game + All DLC for under $15 I'll pick it up, until then I think I'll just keep it in memory as vaguely enjoyable.
It's better than an Xbox Series S. Visually, PS5 > PS5 Pro, unless PSSR2 is running. Enclosed spaces run better graphically than cities, but terrain (open world) is consistent. Uncapped framerate on PS5 Pro runs at ~15 FPS more than Series X. Biggest negative is the Bethesda PlayStation memory leak is back leading to frequent crashes.
