Just curious but where exactly did you hit them? Was it bone on bone?

Got me a fistful of ribs. Definitely wasn't the best angle, me having about a foot of height on them and getting hit by a skimmed shot to the ear. I was pretty much more "WTF?!" than anything at the time and am definitely glad that it was enough. Doing better now, probably about 70% mobility/strength, but it still sucks not having my dominant hand at full capacity.

Pretty much expecting no help from the cops with this, though, despite giving description. Wasn't anyone I recognized from town and if they had a vehicle, it wasn't on our block.

Join the club, it fucking sucks. I'm halfway tempted to bring home Domino's just so I don't have to use the stove/oven tonight.

Been there and yeah, that struggle is real. No good small pizza joints in the area? I mess the hell outta Buscemi's. Few years back a large 1 top was $6 and was always on point. If y'all are ever in metro Detroit / Macomb area grab a slice.

So been meaning to try out the Sauced restaurant nearish me. Walked by and in it a month or so ago bought some gift cards. Called just last week asking about their happy hour to plan for today. Go to just check traffic driving their and first thing I see when I look up is they are permanently closed. As far as I can tell there was no warning other than a facebook post a few days ago while up until then they were posting like everything is fine

There's 1 good local place near me (would have to grab it to go), but they are expensive. 14" All Meat Pizza is 27.99.

Glad you are feeling better. It sounds like just a sprain. It will heal up in no time.

Also some friendly advice from someone who practices the martial arts semi-regularly. If you ever have to defend yourself again and go for the torso don't use a balled fist. Use a basic technique called a, "Heel strike" It's when you hit someone with the bottom of your palm. The best place to strike on the body is just under the rib cage. It will make their diaphragm contract and push all the air out of their lungs, knocking the wind out of them, so to speak. Hurts like hell and if you do it right you will have no damage to your hand. Always study up on things like this of course and practice. Don't go blindly doing it just cause someone on the internet said so.

Frankly, if it happens again I'm walking outside with our rifle. I was just initially expecting it was cats and shit wandering where they shouldn't since we've had a stray problem lately.

Though on some somewhat good note, was actually a blip about the guy being wanted for burglary the next town down the river. So with his name and picture out there, I imagine it's only a matter of time.

New work building woes. It's too damn bright at my desk in the morning due to the east facing window. Wearing sunglasses indoors as to avoid the death rays hitting my retinas.

I bought two golf clubs on Sunday and the order is still "being processed."

    CMON

For comparison, I also ordered other golf things from different vendors. Two items are arriving today and two Thursday with this order being the only one that is outstanding.

The dude in charge of getting your order ready is out playing golf.

Last night sucked. Think I got like 3-4 hours sleep due to the heat. Today is going to be fun at work. At least tomorrow should have about a 15-20 degree drop in temperature for us in the bay area.

It sucks to live in an area where the need for air conditioning is very low and then experience an extreme heat wave where you really wish you had air conditioning. I am a little south of you and we were boiling last night.

I think my wife's parents have an air conditioning unit for us though that they will bring on their next visit.

The amusing thing was on Monday, I got one of those Facebook remember this from X amount of years ago, and it was a picture I took of the Outside temperature from my car 6 years ago when it was 106 outside. But yeah, that's the shitty part of the bay area. Basically during the summer months it's all mid 70's to mid 80's which is comfortable, but typically once every 4-6 weeks we will get a 2-5 day heat wave that just absolutely sucks. Think it was 2 years ago for Labor Day Weekend, we had highs that hit up to 117 in the inland part of the bay area, and San Francisco was actually warmer those two days then Las Vegas. I was doing Uber the entirety of that weekend so I could sit in an air conditioned car, otherwise I would have gotten a hotel room. 85-90 degree weather when getting home at 4am fucking sucks.

The heat has a double shitty (pun intended) effect of making the city stink like shit. When it is hot it smells so much worse. Bart is miserable in that type of weather too. I remember one time I was going to school in SF and living in Pleasanton and the train broke on the raised track just on the other side of the big hill and it was hot as fuck and the train lost power and I was stuck in a sweat sauna for 35 minutes or so. Everyone was miserable and it was packed and all the ventilation fans turned off. I am so glad I don't live in a city anymore.

Though my goats tend to stink it up really bad when it is hot like this.

Bart in the heat is by far one of the most miserable things to be in. I used to work in Oakland while living in Dublin and coming home one day, I saw one particular train was empty and i was exhausted, so thought I scored the rare unicorn seat during rush hour commute. Reason the train was so fucking empty and the other cars packed like sardines was due to the AC being out and it being like a stinky sauna as you described it. It's a rant for a different day, but it boggles my mind how shitty public transportation is in the bay area versus NY, Boston, DC, etc.

I might have made an oopsies while caring for this rat colony I just started. I had 4lbs of food to last me awhile, like over a month, and I recently bought two extra rats as food for my snakes, but both snakes are about to shed so they ignored both rats. I added them to my box so now I have two adolescent rats and two adults. I cleaned out the box, bathed them all, did the works, and left them overnight.

Came back the next day and they somehow went thru 2 full days worth of food overnight, and half their water that is supposed to last as long as the food. I checked my food stores, and I had maybe half a week worth for their current rate. I went online and shopped around and found a really popular brand of food with breeders at a steal of a price...kinda. 50lbs of rat food for $60, which works out to about half the price per pound for the food. I ordered that asap...and it shipped quickly...but now here I am the day after wondering where the fuck am i going to store 50 lbs of rat food. I haven't told my gf yet. My dogs also love the rat food like it's a treat so I have to find a storage place where they wont want to rip into it...fml.
