Don't worry. They grow out of it.

Don't worry. They grow out of it.
When they're 45.
They cry when they're hot, cold, itchy, hungry, tired, wet, bored, etc. You're never going to figure it out all the time.
If my daughter is clean, fed, and starts to cry after I've been playing with her I'll pick her up and walk around the house a bit. If she doesn't calm down I usually just try to soothe her and get her to sleep. Nothing else you can really do.
My 20 something nephew and his wife just had a baby and it has colic or w/e, crys all the time, i feel bad for all 3 of them
Kids borrowed my phone yesterday. It's battery is so dead I can't find it with the find your phone.
And of course, they can't remember where they put it.
On my 4th solo flight I literally wrestled to control the airplane due to an unexpected gust/crosswind. Had to initiate go around procedure twice. Airspeed, altitude literally went wild. They cancelled the solo flights for the remaining part of the day.
I was soaked wet after I was able to land the plane. Apparently the scene from Airplane movie was rather accurate.
On the ground the instructors congratulated me for not losing cool, and not insisting on landing when the conditions weren’t optimal. Go around is no biggie, but the “will I be able to land next time?” Question is the difficult part to deal with.
I should be thankful for the experience but man...
Man I've been there - that gut instinct of "I'm not making this one" hits at the last second.
I had a FAIL once when my alternator belt blew out but I did not know it, so all my avionics were running off battery. A little red flag pops up on, I want to say the yaw indicator, but I was just doing touch-n-goes and was feeling complacent (big bad on me). Well, after the fifth or so touch and go I lose contact with tower as I'm taxiing to the runway and a loud buzzer starts going off. That's when I noticed my fuck-up. I basically had to switch my squak to "can't hear ya" and taxi away scared shitless because I had no one to tell me if anyone was coming/going on the runway. Thankfully it was a pretty dead day (I was the only flyer). The folks at the hangar were none too pleased, though. Learned my lesson!
Exactly, it is the lizard brain making you go around when you are so close to touchdown. Even from outside everything looks ok but you just full throttle as a split second decision and go.
Best friend (pretty much my brother) died of an overdose yesterday. One of the smartest people you'd ever meet. Just was never comfortable being sober. Everybody tried to help, but you cant help someone if they don't want it. We grew up together until college. He started getting into opiates, but we still talked on the phone a bit and would meet up once a month or so to catch up. He always seemed fine, but he was one of those people who could manipulate everything you see about him. He was in and out of rehab a few times. Still processing it. It definitely sucks though and I'm really angry.
That's terrible. My condolences.
Substance abuse shit is never good for anyone. It's one of the hardest things to watch/deal with.
I'm sorry for your loss and it unfortunately reminds me of myself today.
My fail is nothing compared to Boto's friend passing but this isn't a one up thread. Today I notice my ratio for sales had went from a 93% to 80% even though nothing changed. My manager is out today but he emailed the final numbers from July showing this change. I reply (so it's a one on one email) asking about the change and I ask if a certain scenario is the variable. He says "we'll talk about it Monday", meaning as a group. This is extremely important because it can and will impact my commission.
I should've known better to take another sales/service job and double shame on me for thinking this place would be any different.
My condolences, really difficult situation to deal with.
Thanks all. It's been coming in waves. One minute I'm ok and the next I'm a crying mess.
The wake is at the same place we had my mom's a year and a half ago...so yeah.... not looking forward to tomorrow.
I'm really sorry , that's how grief is and I can't even imagine how it will be to attend the same place as your late mom's was. It's been 14 years since I lost my own mom who was my rock and I still get this way now and again randomly. I'm wishing you the best during this difficult time.

Dunno if the dogs were afraid of the thunderstorms that came through or if there was a terrible skunk, but our house smells like anal secretions and it's fucking terrible.
Two fails:
Hubby’s cousin is in the ICU with a fractured skull. I guess her and her husband were waiting for a store to open and saw one of those bird scooters. He tried it t, then she tried it. Somehow her purse got tangled in the bar. When she tried to untangle it she fell and hit her head.
Other fail (not as serious as the first), my work has the worst communication ever. Teachers come back next week for training. I got a text from my AP to have me come back a week early to work with students. Two staff women and myself are in charge of the anti-bully group, and they do an assembly at the beginning of the school year. I was totally fine with it. He told me the staff ladies would make the plans and call the students since they work most of the summer (boss always needs to find things for them to do).
I have been trying to find out the schedule for this week. AP thinks we are training all week, staff lady said kids aren’t coming until Friday. I just want to know wtf is going on, since I left my kids with my in-laws (3 hours away), and may have to pick them up midweek if god forbid something happens with his cousin.
Like, I’ve repeatedly tried to remind them I have kids and can’t just always drop everything and change plans on the drop of a hat because of care.
If we only need to be there on Friday, I’ll be upset since I know my MiL would rather be at the hospital atm, and I wouldn’t have left the kids with her otherwise.
