She's 7, son is 5. D: I know, We're all so old.
I was in a CPR training last week, and the guy said that 40 and over is considered old for emergency purposes. I'm 39. ONE MORE YEAR LEFT. XD
Had a wedding this weekend for my wife's cousin. We thought it was on Saturday until recently. It was Sunday at 4pm, 3 hours from our house. It poured starting around 3:45. Vows didn't start until 4:45. Food came out at 5:30. It was moved to the Methodist Fellowship hall which meant no alcohol allowed. Wife and I left then. We had an assumed 3 hour drive with a 5 month old and two dogs ahead of us. Took 4 hours to get home because of rain + accidents.
Wife told her family we're not going back to visit until maybe Christmas. At least there was some win in the whole thing.
Was walking my dog yesterday and a turned a corner and this chick was jogging with her dog off leash and when she saw us she ducked off to the side, when my dog and I caught up to where she was, saw she was holding her dog. I said good morning and she mumbled out “Sorry, she’s not friendly...” and I’m like yeah she should probably be on a leash then and she had some choice words for my retort and I’m like alright bye and kept walking. People are dumb.
someone broke into our house last night, and now i'm rattled and bothered
they didn't have a chance to take much but still god dammit i'm annoyed
Been there. First apartment I had on my own was broken into the first weekend I lived there. Thankfully it was just kids who kicked the door in and stole my movie posters, dvds, and some other stupid shit. This was back in 2002 so I didn't have shit really to steal. But yeah it was scary.
niggas took my weed smh
yeah it was in a little box, with grinder and a sweet pipe and all
So I'm putting this here because it's a double fail. 1) I feel I fail for letting it bother me so much 2) I'm sure plenty of you work with someone like this and it absolutely sucks people are out there like this. As mentioned here and elsewhere I'm struggling a little with the new gig. However, my recent pay compared to the last gig has been helping me turn the corner. But JFC this coworker. We do not have pure cubicles. More so desks with three feet barriers in between in a somewhat small room. I sit right next to her and I'm seriously considering asking my boss if I can move to the empty desk to my left. She is so fucking loud with just everything she does.
Gotta open a desk drawer? Gotta bang around inside the drawer and then slam the drawer.
On the phone with a customer? Gotta be as loud and obnoxious as humanly possible.
Had a bad call with customer? Gotta complain loud enough that everyone in the room knows about it.
Lunch/snack time, which it is all the time all day long? NOM NOM NOM. Seriously. Her new kick is pork rinds and just think of someone purposefully eating/chewing with their mouth wide open.
Oh, and don't get me started and all the coughing, wheezing, and throat clearing. Complaining aside a few weeks back she was off and we all kind of had a group pow wow and venting session and a coworker bought up how she quite possibly is dying. I talked to my wife and told her if I was forced to guess this woman (who is 5'2) probably weighs somewhere between 400-500. My wife said more than likely she needs to be on oxygen full time. It's fucking sad watching someone in such bad health continue to deteriorate. And what's worse is she's always talking about all the "good things she's doing" (even tho no one is asking) yet she basically does the opposite (eating all day, a lot of it bad, and eating candies or chewing bubble gum constantly).
My boss has tried to address her loudness and extremely poor manners. Literally said verbatim "Lisa, if someone only heard the sound of you eating/sucking on your candies they'd think a XXX movie was playing". What sucks is this won' happen but I'd prefer to not even be in the same room as her because she brings so much negativity to the table and I have a very hard time managing it and letting it get to me. I've been spending the last week with an ear bud in one ear to drown out the noise while making my calls. It sucks though because it makes me appear to be very antisocial and standoff-ish.
I got the same kind of shit coworkers. I have posted many times about the snowflake. God it's so quiet in the office and lab without her trying to be the center of attention. Worse is when she gets all loud about religious talk. Ugh it's the worst. Talk to a minister on the weekend to figure out that shit, not with other coworkers who probably don't know a lick about what you're blabbing about.
Then my former supervisor. I hate when he smells like a homeless hobo. There was a time he had that stench for about a month straight and no one said anything to him because he was a supervisor. Best way I can say the stench travels is he's Pigpen from the Peanuts cartoon. I think I died inside a few times during conference room meetings.
Best thing you can do is not devote any sort of energy towards them. It isn't worth it. It's fine to be antisocial if it means you're getting your work done. You're there to work first, then make friends a distant second.
I use Sennheiser TrueWireless Headphones. Very good noise cancellation features that are deactivatable rather quickly.
Makes me much more productive, distraction-free. Don't worry about looking antisocial at all as long as you maintain good connections with people who actually matter and overall have a friendly/positive attitude.
i mean, that's the problem. they should have touched the hose to fasten it.
You’re out of coolant so the car overheated? How bad is the damage? Usually coolant hoses are an easy pop in + clamp and just use distilled water in the meantime to get yourself back. $2k sounds like the engine was blown and needs a rebuild.
May have blown the head gasket and need to remill the heads.
Happened to me once in my old Subaru. Was driving home late from my wife's (then gf) dorm after she finished her last final before graduating. Car got cold, engine ran hot, and heat wasn't working. At that point it was try to make it the last 10 minutes home or pull over. I chose to try to make it home. Got to a stop sign at the end of my exit ramp and said to my wife that if we have to stop at this stop sign we won't make it. Car was coming so we had to stop, my car sputtered out like they do in TV/movies.
head gasket had gone and fucked up the heads. Luckily no valves were bent or anything. Got the heads remilled and reinstalled and were good to go.
