Was really difficult to watch, feel so sorry for the victim and disgusted by anyone who might’ve played a role in it with improper maintenance, etc.

We live on 42nd floor, i don’t recall how many times i’ve asked my fiancee not to stick too close to the door. I am going to enforce it as of today.

Not to mention the eccentric shit elevator does at work.

Friend of mine reached out to me Wednesday, said he had something important to discuss. He's a PhD that was doing research with MIT and Cornell, working with a start up. I thought maybe they got some funding and he was going to be moving somewhere. Spoke to him last night and it turns out he and his wife separated earlier this week. He was pretty distraught, spoke to him for 30 minutes or so, offered our spare bedroom, etc. Said they're still working out if this is final, if they'll try a new therapist, etc.

This week has been a weird one. Monday my wife and I got a text from friends that they were having their first kid, due in March so they'll be a year younger than our daughter. Don't know the gender yet.

Other friends of ours texted Tuesday and said their second is going to be a boy. We knew they were having a second already, just not the gender yet.

Wednesday afternoon my wife reminded me that we're meeting my cousin and her fiance who are flying in from Cali as they're looking at wedding venues on the east coast. Both their families are east coast (CT and NJ) so they're keeping the wedding here, or at least that's the plan.

Then my I spoke to my buddy last night. Just a spectrum of relationship things happening and while most of the events are happy things, I can't help but feel heavy at the end of the week now.

Not my fail, my friends, but I'm honestly amazed she hasn't killed anyone yet over this. Husband is navy and got transferred from Florida to Central California. So they decided now was as good of a time as any to buy instead of doing military housing. Finally settled on a fixer upper and put in a bid. Since they were in florida, they were going through an agent by proxy to be a middle man for them. First inspection came back with an indication of mold. They said that if they clean it out and get another inspection after showing it's cleared, they will sign off and finish. Little while later, they get an inspection it's in the clear.

Cut to a month later when they are finally moved down there. The carpet immediately had to be torn out as some horrible smell was embedded in it and transferring to everything. They begin work on the kitchen a couple days later by ripping out the cabinets and discover black mold. Not only was it not disclosed, the kitchen wasn't even the location of the mold in the initial inspection. So now they may have to split up while dealing with legal bullshit and have the husband live on base in the barracks while she pulls the kids out of their new school and move them up to Sacramento where her family lives, so she doesn't have to raise 3 kids in a house infested with black mold.....

That's what they are looking into at this point. Besides the obvious health reasons, they already have paid about 8k out of pocket for initial renovations up until the Black Mold was discovered. New carpet is supposed to go in and they can't reschedule it now, so she's afraid that when all is done and settled, that will need to be ripped out and redone again. Husband got a chest x-ray today, her and the kids get one tomorrow to make sure nothing health wise has already cropped up. Told her to save every receipt, including all meals eaten out until they get this resolved.

Got our propane tank switched out yesterday. When I was putting the new one in the car, I kinda lifted it funny, and the tip of my ring finger got hella numb (pinched nerve I assume). After awhile I got more feeling, but today it's still a little numb. Hope I didn't do permanent damage as it feels weird as fuck whenever I type.

Normally you sign a waiver when you get the inspection that basically says "we'll do the best that we can, but we can't be held responsible for everything that may come up." They're there for a couple hours and the home owner has time to "prepare" for the inspection. They can't catch everything.

Was opening a new bail of hay yesterday with my knife and stabbed my finger deep right through the nail. Bled a lot and now it hurts like a mother fucker. Plus it makes it really hard to type which makes work sucky.
