Went over the grandparent-in-laws last week to install MS Office on their new PC. Now, I'm going back over after a long day at work because grandpa can't figure out Word and wants to go back to the WordPerfect he had on his old PC. FML.
I get the bitching about 10, but not office. 10 is different enough that people can have valid complaints about it, but office is basically the same as it has been for ages.
Haha people bitch all the time about upgrades and changes but most people in my experience are so happy going from Office 2011 (where we were) to Office 2016.
I forget which version it was, but whatever version changed the Microsoft productivity suite to have ribbons objectively hurt user experience.
If they were going to add tabs and move everything around, fine, but their attempt to make the toolbar modular added so much empty space...
He was used to there being a file tab at the top as well as a printer button on the taskbar. Instead of just giving him a damn printer button, I made sure hed never have another reason to call his granddaughter inorder to get me to come over by putting wordperfect on there for him lol.

On the architect's front, a popular drafting software called Autodesk Revit notoriously had TERRIBLE windowing capabilities (you would have to click two buttons in the UI ribbon which opened up a drop-down of all open windows). It wasn't until the most recent update for 2019 that they added a window tab (such as a typical browswer). Like jesus fucking christ all of the other autodesk software products had this except Revit. I couldn't have been happier with the upgrade.
Follow up time. We both got our asses ripped and were told if we don't shape up in 30 days we'd be fired so clean up our resumes. I was told specifically I haven't been a team player ever with this person. Gee, might have to do with her stealing a sale from me in my second week on the job? Crazy!!
Said fuck it and put in my notice. I've already had four panic attacks at this job and I've been drink free for 9 weeks. Not going to let this stupid job fuck up my life. I'd rather be a housekeeper at the hospital than this bullshit.
Had to travel up to one of our remote sites for a meeting. Took my gym bag, as it is easier to carry food/drinks (I meal prep so i don't have to count my calories as much). The meeting ended up getting catered which in turn made me forget all about my bag/food. Ended up leaving said bag at the location... guess who gets to drive 3 hours again today.
Sounds like a good excuse for a surprise road trip with some great music! OK maybe for some that doesn't sound fun but I love doing something like this every once in awhile. I'm always checking Micro Center in Madison Heights to see if I can make an excuse to have a drive....
I appreciate the sentiments from you both. I'll be the first to admit that I am more sensitive than the average person and I'll always admit my faults and own any mistakes or wrongdoings. I had decided at this place I wasn't going to just lay down tho when issues happen like at the old place because I wasn't going thru years of misery again. And just as Anoat mentioned before, if I didn't confront them about her stealing leads/sales it would continue and it indeed happened.
To add a little more since I posted a bit out of emotion yesterday, the manager stated he gave the bad coworker the go ahead to go after the lead after she text him. So the question would be, what exactly did she text him? Going off of her history and actions she probably left out the fact I had numerous conversations with this guy and had already talked with our manager (same mgr in this conversation) about it because it's a complex situation. She probably said we both had a lead for the same vehicle in the same name because he said he told her whoever sets the appointment first gets the commission. However, he exposed the fact that he basically created a cutthroat environment and encourages such actions. So really, this is a blessing because shit was going to explode eventually and I'd rather get out early.
Now to figure out what I'm going to do. I'd really like something that is task oriented and not "performance" ie numbers on a board. Or just service related. Transactions if you will. One position I'll be applying for is warehouse lending service work for a local bank. Other than that I'll have to cruise indeed and others.
Got the job offer of my dreams since I was a kid.
Unfortunately I’m going to have to turn it down because we couldn’t come to terms on a location. I’m done moving around every so damn often and the closest they offered me to where I’m at now was fucking Nebraska. I live outside DC.
Went bike riding with my son, one of his friends, and her dad over the weekend and I think I pinched a nerve in my butt or something. Ever since then my feet have felt weird like hot and cold at the same time and kinda tingly but not pins and needles bad. Feels uncomfortable but not painful.
Trying to get tickets to see Joshua Bell for an anniversary gift and Ticketmaster's ticket insurance BS isn't loading on my PC or phone and it won;t let me complete the transaction without selecting an option. FUCK YOU TICKETMASTER.
Was in the middle of changing banks and forgot to transfer over my Spotify Premium information to my new bank. Payment lapsed, I saw it, switched over and paid immediately. However because that happened, I lost my free Hulu and I'm annoyed as shit about it. Contacted them and they said there was nothing they could do. Hulu is cool but not enough for me to pay for it.
