There are a bunch of really great food trucks around here... but most of them are completely terrible at letting people know when and where they will be far enough in advance. 1 in particular I love I've actually talked to and they said oh they post "schedules" on fb and Instagram. Well no not really they usually just the day before or the day of say hey we are going to be here or hey we are going to be at this place for the week... the day it starts.
Well today at noon they posted hey we are going to be at place 1130 to 3 today <.<. I don't think they get people don't check all the places they like's social media everyday several time a day and this time even that wouldn't have been enough since most would've already been at lunch/made plans
County IT opened up a ticket with Microsoft for me over a weird calendar bug between two admin assistant's and the manager's they support. Initially was going to have them call Monday, but one of the assistants was out for training. Then yesterday's call got scrubbed due to one being out sick. Today they called my work cell (i barely get reception at work) and I didn't recognize the number, so I let it go, then they called the desk of one of the admin assistants when she was in the bathroom, so now we may have to reschedule for tomorrow....
We have an annoying issue with people randomly parking in my assigned spot and some others. Mine gets taken the most due to how close to the stairwells and front it is.
Come home today before work and random car parked with someone asleep inside. Honk my horn about 5 times before he wakes up. Guy starts telling at me from his car saying that I didn't need to start shit. At this point I can't hear so walk to his car as he starts saying "I wouldn't approach my car if I were you." , I keep walking asking why is that and he refuses to answer. I question if he lives here since no parking permit , he says he is waiting for someone , in an apartment number that doesn't exist here.
He starts cussing at me and telling me go ahead and call the cops , obviously I'm not going to do that though I work the sherriff's office so you know I could, lol.
I take photos of his license plate and video his aggressive behavior as I report him to the manager. I hear him take off through the parking lot, guess he didn't expect me to call his bluff. No one ever got in his car.

He was probably homeless.
Eyyyyyy~!
Trying to find a local computer repair shop and they're all closed. Closest Micro Center is over an hour away. I seriously feel like every small thing I want to do HAS to be a needlessly tedious adventure and bruh, I'm tired.
So seems like PG&E is probably turning off power tonight. Hard to say since the full maps web address seems down and trolling around the website it says I'm in the effected area but also say I wont be affected when putting in exact address.... well probably wont currently. Also no period given on restoration
You babies. We lost power in a storm when I was a kid and the power was out for almost two months. We had a tiny generator that I used during the day to run the fridge and my playstation. I had to shut down the generator and refill the tank every two hours. (Now we have a big propane generator because having no power for that long sucks!)
I think my area is on the map of potentially being effected by this too.
It's an actual issue for me because of my job , as in we actually rely on our cell phones at the airport to connect with each other on top of radios and shit. I can't even think about the actual shitstorm that is going to ensue.
Now in all maps my area is well outside of it but how reading that cell service may be interrupted and who the fuck has a landline phone. Also no way to charge said phone unless in my car, a m.j long all the fucking food that could go to waste so trying to plan for it now. This isn't a viable solution.

You work at an airport don't you? All that infrastructure should be on automatic backup generators. The business I work for isn't even that big and we have full generator support for the whole property. Not only that but the local cell tower has automatic generator backup as well.
The food thing sucks. Get some coolers and ice. Also get a battery backup for your phone. A lot of the ones out can keep a phone charged for 2-3 days of normal use.
I have never seen cell coverage go down anywhere due to a power outage. Usually cell coverage goes down when something goes wrong with ATT or Verizons networks.
Fill and freeze water bottles/milk gallons if you have space. My freezer is full of meat and fish I don't want to lose

I'm more annoyed that we may have to scatter employees across the county to other buildings that would still have power as we have a chunk of staff that are on desktops and not laptops, and I'll probably still get stuck driving around to all those sites to fix issues instead of my normal day to day stuff.
Yeah my work location is Oakland airport though our infrastructure is so delicate just high winds cause some of our fucking gates to go down nightly. We have had power issues before so I don't have alot of faith.
Some articles I've seen said cell phone towers may be affected if it lasts as long as they think it could worst case. I'm not panicking over it but it raises valid concerns overall. Really who knows at this point.
Of course I just went shopping so have a full freezer of chicken , hamburger and other stuff I meal plan for. I only own a small cooler so not much will fit if it happens. I'm actually off work until Wednesday at midnight but get the feeling if shit goes bad may get a call or email asking me for overtime for coverage reasons.

Kind of different though. If this was an area with storms like that the area would be prepared and a storm like that would shut most things down. Here it's like try to find a way to work thru it while cell towers and internet might be down and gas stations not even in the area but nearby say they might not be able to provide service.
More annoying because yeah I kind of get random places in the hills or areas with a ton of brush/foliage but middle of town... cmon man
The other issue is most people that live in shared housing - apartments and condos can't really have a generator that I'm aware of.i admit I don't know much about them but seems unlikely. And in the east and north bay that is by far a higher percentage of people than in actual homes.
The more I think about all the things affected the more I get pissed off at this. I grew up in Florida where storm readiness was important but this is definitely nothing like that. The sheer area they want to shut power down to is ridiculous, keep it to the remote areas and highest risk , fine. But this is beyond a precaution from the maps that are released.
Schools in north bay are officially closed now , for at least a day or two if not longer. Shit just keeps looking worse.
I should have taken vacation this week lol.

I live in California just a couple hours south of the Bay area. Also cell towers have automatic generators that kick in when the power goes out. I have never lost cell coverage during a power outage before. Most infrastructure in areas are prepared for storms even if they don't regularly get them. Gas stations, stores, restaurants etc. on the other hand probably are not.
Edit: food spoilage is an issue regardless and that really sucks.
Well, I get to work from home, which is essentially going to amount to a paid day off. 99.9% of my work is helpdesk related, so i'll just have my laptop up and booted and I'll finish off secret of Mana if I don't finish it tonight assuming power doesn't crap out.
