Ah, I thought they charged you too.

You can file a complaint with his department, sure, but idk how satisfying a conclusion that would be for you. At best theyll probably put some notes of the complaint in his folder and never pay attention to it again unless he was coming up for a high level promotion.

I’d take it to r/legaladvice and see if they can advise you properly but at the least I’d say try to hit up a free consultation with a lawyer in your area to see if anything is feasible.

You are fortunate this was only a mild inconvenience for you but it could have devastating consequences if your situation was different. Could lose a job, get kids taken away, get evicted etc, and that shit shouldn’t fly.

Someone's fucking with my contract folders on the company server and deleted my payment requisition folder for one of my contracts. The entire folder is gone.

Need to see if this IT company makes back ups of the server...

Honestly this is all I really expect. But given this guys attitude I'd expect that he either already has some other complaints on record or will be getting some more in the future and shit adds up.

Good idea though wasn't necessarily planning going lawyer route. But yeah could've gone a lot worse. But the other side of this that I didn't mention is while I was in there my friend who was actually pretty drunk was freaking out in the hospital because they wouldn't let me see her. And extra freaking out because she couldn't get ahold of me because of being arrested.

So yeah other side to this fail is I have a hospital to get dealt with... like on top of calling the cops to get me to leave and then arrested nurse there also hit me and took my phone for a bit and of course cops believed the lies she told them instead of me. Though on upside my job does do work for one of the departments in that hospital and boss is willing to at least consider talking to his contacts there

Also other thing I forgot about but they didn't read me my rights... which I guess since they never planned on questioning isn't to big of a thing but still it made things confusing since they never actually said you're under arrest until I got to the jail

So yeah I had a fun weekend

Right-click the folder and look for "Restore previous versions" If your IT team has shadow copies on (Which they should), you should be able to restore them yourself.

Edit: I would also double check the folders they were next to. I can't tell you how many people "Lost" a folder when they attempted to double click the folder and instead dragged the folder into another folder by mistake.

It says that the previous versions no longer exist.

I also did a search of what the folder contained and came up with nothing. It was only after that I determined it was deleted somehow.

No idea when this happened over the last few days but noticed my cat Jager was smelling particularly nice of some body wash I've used before from disney world.

Apparently at some point he opened up the drawer, pulled it and other tubes out around 3 oz each, and the body wash one opened and spilled. He must have stepped in it at some point and now he smells great but I have no more body wash from my disney hotel

So for some reason I can't fathom at the jail they took all my cash and issued some kind of preloaded debit card to me and gave me the info on it. Yeah the info is mostly for people with actual accounts but something that caught my eye is a ton of fees on it including some kind of monthly so I want more info. And of course there customer service number is mostly for people with accounts with nothing about what I need to know and no way of talking to any real person. Visit website which gives me various different numbers that have the exact same customer service options but for some reason different voices doing it lol

Started feeling sick to my stomach a few days ago along with mild flu symptoms but seemed to go away after I got to work.

Yesterday before work started feeling off again but got better soon after. Had so many yummy noms at potluck yesterday and then around 5am same symptoms started and lasted until 3pm today so got zero sleep so called off today. Fail is now my holiday overtime converts to holiday straight time instead for today.

On a funnier fail note , I had bought refrigerated cinnamon rolls for my husband to make on his day off. Noticed it was still in the fridge unopened so asked why he didn't bake them today. He tells me he didn't think the frosting was included..
Apparently he never made them growing up so had no clue. I couldn't stop laughing.

Sitter didn't show up this morning.

When my wife finally got a hold of her she said she was snowed in at a friend's house. We got 2-3 inches, heavy, wet, a little icy. It's not great, but she only lives 10-15 minutes, maybe 7-8 miles, from us and could certainly make it to our house safely. I drove 45 miles south without a problem.

Definitely figured everyone was going to stay home and partied at a friend's.

Turns out I just fat fingered and turned off mobile data somehow.

The good news I guess is it only took me a day to figure out.

Someone replies all " We getting beer after?".
Then replied all AGAIN with "Oops."

So yesterday was my birthday. It was snowing here and we got out of work early. I was hoping that they'd close the office and I wouldn't have to go in at all, but leaving early is good too.

Figured I'd get home, do a round of snow clearing, drink a few beers and chill.

Step in the door around 1:45 and my wife is standing right inside. My wife ended up picking up the sitter I mentioned above (which I guess was the first shitty thing to happen yesterday). The sitter is sick and going home so I have to watch the baby, can't clear the driveway. I hang with my daughter and have a beer. By 6 my wife is still upstairs working and my daughter just fell asleep after being cranky for a bit.

Wife finally comes down, is moving around the kitchen. I hand the baby off when she finally comes over and go out to clear snow. Snow blower starts okay, but I notice that the plug I used to start it has a piece of metal in the ground part of the outlet. It looks like the casing came off the ground for the snow blower which is crazy, I only used it one season so far. At this point the snow has melted a bit and refrozen so the bottom inch or two is a slushy/icy mess and I need to do two passes to get it all cleared. I run out of gas and have to refuel. Get restarted again, luckily the ground housing fits over what's left of the ground, and keep going.

Get done a little after 7 and start making dinner. As I'm getting my pizza dough stretched I hear a sound like air escaping something in the entry room. My dog is shitting all over the place. I grab him and get him outside on the deck where he continues shitting. Now I'm scrubbing carpet to get dog shit out of it. finally get it all cleaned up with a few minutes to spare as my wife did her best to finish the pizza (it came out fine).

My wife runs out to get the mail and opens up a bill from our pediatrician. They're seemingly double charging us for a few past appointments, one from the day after she was born (???? we didn't go to see them until 2 days after she was born), 3 that my wife paid already, and 1 that would be new but build under my new insurance rather than hers. Now my wife is freaking out because she just opened a $1k bill for things that should have been paid for, billed previously, or were to be under a different insurance.

I calm my wife down, say I'll give them a call and we're sitting down to eat. The sitter texts my wife. She has a fever, upper respiratory infection, ear infection, and something else. Now my wife is worried that the baby caught something and is mad that the sitter didn't just call out sick rather than ignore my wife until 9am and then ask her to pick her up.

I honestly could have just taken the day off. It probably would have just been a better day in the end. My wife made a really good cake though.
