Had a shitty overtime shift yesterday working in the mental health house. Today get assigned a mixed classification house but kind of low population, okay cool.
Arrive here and other technician I relieve tells me there's no internet access. So I couldn't log in , couldn't run any lists or reports, nothing. Had to call over to another house to get the stuff done for me , had to call over to have anything done in the computer system.
Apparently this went out at 10pm yesterday and my shift started at 6am. IT just informed me it will still be a few hours...

I sneezed while brushing my teeth and spit toothpaste all over myself and my phone.
Either getting suspended or fired tomorrow; just my assumption.
Saw the schedule for next week ahead of time (it's not finalized/hasn't been posted yet) but I'm not on it.
Don't really care though w/ my current savings, I can cover rent until January at the latest
You should have enough ammunition to nail the managers balls to the wall. Plus don't forget unemployment, especially if they continue the Covid-19 bonus pay, even if they do lower it?

I suffer from Meniere's disease. It absolutely sucks as I have random cases of vertigo mixed in with the worst hot flashes and cold sweats you can imagine. What makes it worse is it also causes fluctuating levels of tinnitus in my ear, coupled with hearing loss in that ear that varies, and can go up and down over the course of the day. Usually things are just heavily muffled, like I'm underwater due to the pressure. Today though really got to me. Had a user who couldn't hear anything out of her headphones. Tried switching jacks and I had a bud in my left ear and was barely able to hear anything. Figured it was the volume, so I crank it, and can still barely hear anything. Switch to my right ear, and I get completely blasted. Made me realize at this moment, I'm probably at about 80% hearing loss while I wait for the pressure in my ear to calm down. On a normal day, it's around 30-50%.
that sucks. i have really sensitive senses, though granted my eyes are myopic as crap - i'd hate to lose any of em.
just had a minor fail of my own, though more of a wtf than anything else. started up shadow of the tomb raider for the first time (yeah yeah, i know i'm waaaay late to the party, huge steam library backlog, etc) and ran the benchmark to try and make adjustments for my old computer. after a couple of tries, i got to the part where she's in the forest passing the red splotch on the ground toward the happy birds and instead of the normal continuing part... i got the "hurt" blood spots on the screen and ouch sounds, followed by her dying and an error message, something about updates being installed. (no updates were being installed.) i think she might've pathed into a trap or something in the benchmark or something and freaked it out? <_< happened so fast i didn't think to grab a screenshot, sadly, just thought it was a hilarious fail.
::edit:: tried to run the benchmark again after posting that and got a C++ error message or something and game crashed. guess it REALLY didn't like lara dying in the benchmark lol.
still don't know if I'm suspended, fired or what; as the sneak peak had shown, not on the schedule next week at all, but every time someone has been fired, they have been removed from the group chat.
I asked if i was fired/suspended in the group chat, she didn't answer at all but posted after I asked, and still hasn't removed me, lol
Why would you post that in the group chat? If you're fired I wonder if it was for unprofessionalism

the group chat isn't professional at all. This is a girl who was at the job less than a week being told what she did was stupid, by the manager in the group chat (when they didn't even train her proper)
literally "that's stupid why would you do it that way. Try it again" verbatim
We have a corporate order that we have to wear mask/gloves and i'm the only person who does. There's nothing professional about that woman in any capacity. How do you serve food and drinks w/ a mask around your chin and no gloves while you "run" the store
Did you say that to her face?

No, I didn't say that. She said that, to the new girl who had been there less than a week. The quote was her, not me
So, my neighbours just had a failed attempt at killing my dog. Its fail on their part and now I'm thinking of ways of getting them back. And I say failed attempt because a neighbour a few houses down actually stopped her from running into the street seconds before a car zipped down.
It all started because I got into a fight with my mom about me dying during cancer that they yelled at me for "For being too loud". Since then, anytime my wife or I have done ANYTHING in our backyard, they've taken it as a slight and the next day do something to try and piss us off. It first started with snowblowing at 2-4am(Which we called the police, several times), now that its summer, they mow their lawn at 5-6am the day after we mow ours, regardless of length.
I guess that wasn't good enough because the wife mowed the lawn yesterday, she had to mow at 9pm cause it was like +40 here during the day, so today, they went and opened our front and back gate. Both entrances have latches and need to be forced open. Not only were they forced open, they were stuck open. Now, this might sound like insane ramblings but I know the gate was closed because just an hour ago, I stepped out for air, mostly to check the weather(We made an out door movie theatre so we can have a few people over and respect social distancing and have no risk of bringing/leaving anything in our house) and both gates were 100% closed.
They've done a myriad of things to get back at us but thats whats currently on my mind.
Aside from yelling at them and them denying it, is there anything I can do? A large part of me is tempted to go and fully vandalize their house but that just would get back to me.
My wife and my dog were the two things that got me through cancer, if I were to lose one, that would have destroyed me.
And put a lock on the inside of your gate.
Yeah, camera is probably the most effective thing against the thugs.
Their ID will be known, where they live are known...get a big, big ass -visible- camera and enjoy the show.
Have to start going back into the office today. Every other week. Really not feeling this.
You got almost three more months than me out if it.
Heh, I got 6 weeks of alternating one week in, one week out before I got called back full time. Majority of my day now is just cleaning my office, catching up on what little work I have, and the occasional person having to bring their temporary laptop in so they can update their password so they can continue reaching their network drives via vpn.
