The phone is still fine, it's just the battery that's bitching out, and replacing it is non-trivial at this point.

But yeah, getting a smartphone today because I HAVE to, EDD not giving me a choice.
I just hope I can keep my legacy pay-as-you-go plan. With my usage volume, only costs me $10 a year. $40 a year when I had a higher volume of usage.

I’m moving when my lease is up at the end of April. They ask for at least 60 days notice. I give them the notice today. They tried to get me to re-sign, I declined. It was fine, whatever. Less than an hour later I get an email saying I am in violation of my lease agreement for having a dog at my apartment and I have to remove her within 7 days or face fines or lease cancellation. Me and my dog have lived here YEARS before this current property management took over ownership and we were grandfathered in. I have never hidden the fact that I have a dog from them. It’s in my file. Every work order I’ve had filled out by them includes a note about the dog for maintenance people to be aware of. It’s been included on my lease every year I’ve resigned. How very convenient that less than an hour after I give them notice that I’m moving out that I get this notification. Property manager ignored my phone call and email today. Going to see them in person tomorrow to straighten this out. Fuckers.

Why I hate property managers for apartments. We had an issue at our prior apartment, washer went out, and when they repaired it and hooked it back up, they didn't attach the hoses properly and we had a mini flood. Lost a bunch of towels and bathmats that were given to us as wedding presents, plus we were out for a few weeks with no washer which we laid extra for. They tried to say a fifty dollar gift card at a local restaurant was a suitable compensation.

I had to get a hold of corporate to get a partial refund of rent.

I don’t know what this is other than pure confusion.

My wife and I booked a fancy hotel room for two days for our wedding anniversary(she’s put up with being married to me for 5 years. Never saw that happening). Our check in time was at 4pm. We drove to her parents to drop our dog off for the two days. After that we get to the hotel. The doors are normally locked so you have to call in for them to let you in. So, I do that and the clerk that answers is extremely confused that we are there.

Now, before I go into the rest of this. I must stress this. Only 3 people knew where and when we were doing this hotel thing. I told my best friend, the wife told her best friend and her mother. We also told them the exact days, for how long, and which theme room.

At 2pm today. A person with a deep voice called in pretending to be me, and tried to cancel and reschedule the stay. The guy on the phone thought we were only staying for a single day starting tomorrow, had no idea what theme room we were in, and refused a refund. And the excuse he gave was that my wife was sick due to her Crohns.

When we got there. The clerk was like “I thought you guys canceled” and as soon as I spoke she instantly realized that my voice was not the voice that called. The clerk also called him “Sam” because both our names are unisex but he corrected her and gave our full names. It’s so confusing as to how someone could have so much information about us but so little information about our plans yet know about them.

The clerk said that fake me will be calling back to reschedule so they’re going to do what they can to get a phone number, maybe a real name, or their credit card information. The clerk told me that no matter what, they will be filing a police report as this has never happened and she’s pissed off and super sorry.


This whole thing is just so fucking weird. I’m not sketched out or anything. Just full of pure confusion.

I'm on Entyvio for my Crohns disease. It's sorta like Remicade where it is administered via IV slowly over a period of time. Unlike Remicade though or other similar drugs it's designed to only treat Crohns or Ulcerative Colitis and supposedly does not suppress your immune system. I started it last year after a colonoscopy showed the disease had returned. I had to have a bowel resection in January 2019 because a small part of the intestine had gotten so damaged and scarred that it was only a matter of time before I got obstructed. My GI doctor said it was only in two small spots near the surgery site but it was serious enough that he wanted to put me on something right away to try and get ahead of it this time. I have taken it before years ago kind of.. When it was new my doctor wanted to try it on me to get me into remission. He was enthusiast about it because studies had shown good results, only works in your gut, etc. Thing is like Remicade it is VERY expensive. When you first start treatment they give you what they call, "loading doses" very close together and if you tolerate it and their are no side effects you start treatment of one infusion every eight weeks. Back then just after I had started my first regular treatment like a week later I got a letter from my insurance company saying, "NOPE! TO EXPENSIVE!" and they wouldn't pay for it so I had to stop it. I was put on and off Prednisone (FUUUUUUUUU >_<) and it just gradually got worse. Cut to recent times.

So I'm on it for real now and they said at first not to worry that insurance covers it now and that costs have come down. The lady that handles insurance at their office said that I would only have to pay $358 every time I have a treatment. That's it. Well she was WRONG!! I got a bill the other day for over 4,000 dollars! Turns out that the 358 is just the co-pay every time I have the treatment! The insurance company does pay a huge chunk of the cost and they eat (lose money) on some of it. My out of pocket cost is $1,428 for each treatment. So with the co-pay it's really $1,786. The bill I got was just for the first few loading doses and not my latest treatments. I literally don't know what I'm going to do. I can't afford this.

Update. Property manager didn’t believe me. Had to go over their head and actually reach out to the property owner (who thankfully remembered me) and overrode the manager. I even got an apology phone call. Happy ending.

You may want to try to get something in writing, otherwise you probably won't get any of your security deposit back.

How long have you lived there? Depending on the state, rental carpets have a useful lifespan then you can't be charged for them. Also if they are replacing it with hardwood, you're off the hook as well

You can also request them replace it if it's past the lifespan of it and you're renewing the lease.

Been at this address for a year and a half been using grub hub the entire time. For some reason for the first time since I've moved here, they defaulted my prior address (which makes no sense I've had food sent here like 30 times in the last year and a half) so i just spent 25 bucks and got no food. Guess I'll eat tomorrow

Edit: for reference, that's over half of what I'll make at work tomorrow. 6hr shift at 8.75; after taxes it's less than 8 we'll just use 8 (even though it's 7.80something) that's 48 bucks. literally just wasted half a day of pay for food i won't get to eat and now won't be eating tonight

That sucks and I know you have to bike to get your food, but those services (grub hub/seamless, etc) making eating so much more expensive. The fees and the tip plus the restaurants charge more on those websites to cover extra expenses.

If I was making $50/day at work I wouldn’t feel right spending $25 on a single meal.

You should look into food prepping or something. Maybe one of those delivery meal kits.

It sucks eating the same shit, but you’ll never pull ahead spending a half a days pay on 1 meal (unless this is a rarity for you and you’re treating yourself).

I’m only speaking from experience as someone who was spending WAYYY too much on food until i learned to cut back, cook, meal prep, etc.

I usually work mon-fri but i'm mon-tues, thurs-fri this week so didn't get to eat at work. Just wanted to treat myself for once

Gotta +1 the instapot. Shit is amazinggggggggg. Can make so many different things, easy to clean, takes up no space, can make easy food that tastes delicious.
