My heart breaks for you Fiye I’m truly so sorry to hear about this. I lost my mom 12 yeas ago due to stroke but cannot possibility fathom what you are going through. My deepest sympathies and condolences to you. Sending hugs your way too

My grandfather had leukemia for 15? years. Something ridiculous. Completely depends on severity when they catch it and how it reacts to the treatment.

no it's fine, he was diagnosed in October of last year and died in June. but he had an especially poor outlook for recovery as his was extremely aggressive and complicated by a comorbid diagnosis of primary myelofibrosis. some nice legacy mutations from Agent Orange exposure while he was trekking through Nam. hope your da has a better shot at it.

I don't know many details about his, just that his white blood cell count will be at a point to start some kind of chemo by the end of this year

also, a buddy of mine had leukemia as a teen/young adult. it was before we met. he's been fine, just has to be careful about medication interactions and whatnot.

Had a few beers last night watching the Yankee game. Today I’ve felt half-dead like I’ve just came off a week long binge. No idea how I used to do this 4-5 nights a week.

You were just so used to it. It's like that scene in Wolf of Wall St. when talking about his morning ritual to get right. For me it depends on the whiskey intake. Most of the time I feel like I slept on a concrete floor when I wake up. Two hours later and it's like nothing happened and the day starts. My mornings after beer depends on what kind. A ton of dark beer? I'm fucked. Tripel, Barleywines, or IPA? I'd feel like I was in a fight the night before (never been in a fight in my life!). My go to cheapo beer (Genessee Cream Ale) and my bladder and intestines hate me the next day.

Mostly bourbon for me nowadays with the occasional wine. We get incredible and super expensive bourbons and at this point I can't care less about most beer, will just have one or two if that's my only option.
