Someone on the previous shift left food wrappers in the dust pan at one of the posts I’m working today and it drew in a ton of ants since it’s situated right by a field. Everyone knows that you can’t leave any food out at this post for any reason. Thankfully pest control came through and sprayed but still ridiculous.

Computer is shutting down randomly. I've tried every test, checked every conection, etc. and still can't figure out what's wrong with it. I'm going to have to take it someplace for service. I just hate having to pay money and they tell me it's a simple fix.Posting this from a different device and it's hard to even post.

Odds are it's either your PSU or motherboard. Best to address that now before it starts damaging other components. Could also buy replacements from a local electronics shop and return them if it doesn't fix it, microcenter is particularly nice in that regard.

Posting an update. I took it to BestBuy to have it checked out. I would have liked to have taken it to a local computer store that would charge less but there are only a couple of those where I live and they are shady as hell. Anyway, I went and picked it up and the psu was fine but the video card is toast. Not too bad I thought cause I am looking to upgrade anyway. Then he told me they, "suspect" the cpu and motherboard have problems and that might cause shutdowns too. Strange because on the paper they gave me under the diagnostics part all the conponets passed except the vid card. I have a really old video card laying around that should be enough to handle Windows and basic browsing. I am going to put it in my system and just leave it on for a while. If the comp still shuts down then I know for sure it's the motherboard. Keeping my fingers crossed it's not. Edit: Posting on PS4 btw. It never even occured to me to try. All past web browsers on consoles have been crap. But just with a basic keyboard and mouse it's not too bad.

This week has been one shitty week.

I mentioned losing the student recommendations and having to retype them, but here's what has happened thus far.

I have suddenly been really tired lately. On Monday I took a nap after work for a little over an hour.

Tuesday on the way to work, I fell asleep while driving and rear-ended a car on the freeway. Thankfully, it was stop and go traffic and the only thing that was damaged was my plate being a little dented. The lady was very nice, and seemed insistent on not reporting it as her car had zero damage.

But still, that was a really dumb shitty thing I did.

So yesterday I went to bed at like 7pm so afraid of doing it again.

Today was ok but at the end of the day I had a meeting with one of the teams I'm on. At the end, the other English teacher in the meeting let me know she was no longer going to be working at the school after Friday.

She said it was for personal reasons, but I know she has always taken a ton of sick days for having a weak immune system, and I am worried there is something seriously wrong with her health.

As well, every 6 years our school gets visited by the state to see if we are up to snuff. It's a huge ordeal that requires this huge HUGE ass report about all the things. She and I were in charge of creating the report. So now, I will have to try to find someone else to help me with limited time.

She was also the one who took over yearbook for me, so I assume I'll have to do that, again.

Also, she was the other teacher on our PBIS team, so we'll have to find another one.


On top of that I still have three more recommendations to write and are due this Friday.

My students are extra lazy this year, and we have two weeks until finals and a bunch are failing since they didn't do a project assignment. Some have handed it in today, but idk when I can get to it this week because of the recommendations, but I know my boss will be pissed if I don't because she's calling failing students into her office tomorrow to give out sat detentions to get their work done, and she'll want everything up to day.

I just can't keep up right now.

I don’t understand people who can keep the thermostat that high. We have an apartment and don’t use our wall heater at all and just wear lounge pants/hoodies or sweaters at home. It’s probably about 65-68 at most times with the coldest being round 60ish. I walked into one of my posts last week and granted they work overnights but it was set to 85 and I had to actually put the air conditioning on to cool off.

Or idiots who insist on using a space heater in the office but wear only a single layer of clothing still complain that they are cold. FFS wear a sweater or layer up. Also same idiot asked if we could get more space heaters once we move into our new building... Seesh it's climate controlled to ~70°F.

That is my coworker. It would be say around 70 outside in September and she's wearing leggings and a thin blouse or something and is running a space heater.
