I lived outside Detroit from 2002-2007 so I’m always curious. But you aren’t kidding about the traffic.

It’s actually like the Bay Area - basically if you leave 2-5 minutes later than 7am add another 45 minutes to an hour, it’s crazy.

Quicken Loans on Woodward. Used to be called the Compuware Building but now it's called One Campus Martius. Back in 2010-2011 a lot was changing downtown with numerous storefronts built or remodeled. Many new businesses and restaurants are now there and it's still growing. The only people that continue to talk about Detroit as a whole being terrible have either never been there or haven't in years. Yeah your East Point, Hamtramick, east side Southfield, yeah those are all still really bad, but there is a ton of great.

Man that really sucks. I know you bought the car recently so just curious, did you check w/your insurance carrier on the price difference for deductibles? Every state and vehicle is different, but for my company I rarely see a difference of more than $10/m when I quote someone $1k vs. $500 for collision.

Double checked too and I guess Michigan is the only state that has "Limited Property Damage" or "mini tort". In your situation since the other party was at fault you could go after his insurance carrier for up to $1000. If any of ya'll are in Michigan, make sure you have that coverage on your auto!

And who did the police say was to blame for the accident? He can claim it wasn't his fault all he wants, it's the police report that will say who was at fault. If he was at fault you file on his insurance and everything is repaired at zero cost to you.

Sucks to have your new ride all crunched up though, that's the worst.

I took a call earlier this week for someone who "misjudged the turn" in a parking lot with those decorative rocks that line the parking lot. She somehow put her Ford Edge on top of the rock and could not drive off of it. I wish we had access to the pics from claims.

Not saying this is Ode, but that deductible is usually the "give me the cheapest rate", especially if it's a company like Progressive, Geico, Esurance, etc. They don't care because they don't have to interact with people in person. The only time I write that is after trying at least twice to have them reconsider and if they refuse I put detailed notes on the interaction. From our experience, they'll have a claim down the road and say we never offered them anything else and make an official complaint.

Welp my credit freeze with the three bureaus seems to have done fuck all because some jackwagon bought three iPhones through Xfinity Mobile and linked to my existing account for Internet services. On the phone now to get them removed and lock down my Comcast account. I'm wondering if in this case it was a.) A Comcast employee making the fraudulent additions, in which case they wouldn't need to pull a credit check bypassing the freeze or b.) regular scammer but the freeze did fuck all because I had an existing account so again no credit check or c.) Comcast just doesn't do a credit check for this and someone added it anyway with my info.

Further adventures in the new comp. Seems the dude who the boss hired to set it up and connect to the network knew what he was doing even less than I do... which is kind of impressive considering it's his job and I'd assume he had some kind of training and/or credentials. So first problem... not his fault but after having used other OS and aero effects for so long switching to 10 with no aero effects and just the whole less defined bordered on programs is completely jarring both for a use but also a visual aspect.

Then this guys fuck ups... apparently something was done with getting windows 365 on here... but like when try to go into it it displays no account so gotta add one... add the company account and says it's already in there but it's also not there to actually log into <.<. He had said he'd set that up so yeah. Also apparently he connected us to the network in some weird funky way so literally only 1 other computer on the network and 1 drive on the server is findable by any semi easy means and those still had to be setup and shit. So had to figure/talk to someone with a clue how to map all that shit to this comp and it's still not done. And the person I was talking to is wtfing himself lol

Yeah that's a lot of wtf indeed. I've never done multiple HDD mapping on a network with more than one two PC, but between mine and the wife's it wasn't difficult at all.

Honestly going thru it it almost looks less setup than what I had left it at when I had started and stopped because I was too busy and didn't feel too comfortable with all that. So yeah getting someone with real experience and certs to come down and fully do everything as well as build a couple new comps in a month but need to be able to at least have some ability to work for now
