There's a lot of reasons why it's happening and when we made the decision initially I was all about it but now moving day is tomorrow and the apartment we've had the last 3 1/2 years is all packed up and man
It's not a great feeling.

But just think you can now play ffxi uninterrupted again! Totes worth it.
Been telling ya you need to switch from one of the worst banks to a credit union. Pretty sure RCU goes as far as you maybe and from what I've seen they tend to be decent. Also no idea how good they are but Patelco has been expanding around here and they just sent me something about how if I join and open a MMA they gunna give me 3% on it up to certain balances (they do some weird reverse tiering system though where higher balance tiers get lower percentages)
Today's the day.

Welp. I just got home from the bar where I saw a dude almost get murdered. Two guys outside were fighting, someone went outside to tell them to break it up. One guy had a beer bottle smashed on his head and was head stomped twice on the ground before people chased him off. One of the other bar patrons was an off duty cop that immediately went to stabilizing the victim, but fam, dude was FUCKED up. You ever heard the sound of someone unconscious trying to breathe but they couldn’t because their esophagus was filled with blood? Well I can mark that off my bucket list now. He gained consciousness right as EMS arrived to take him away and the cops took all of our statements and stuff. Last I heard a K-9 unit had picked up a blood trail and was going after him. Hope they catch the shit head. Jesus.
Doing doordash/Grubhub to help fund a disneyworld vacation. Get a request where the drop off is a multi building apartment complex. It’s pouring rain and after walking to each building I find the building address doesn’t exist. Call the guy and he’s like oh yeah that’s a known issue. Well put that shit in the delivery instructions your delivery guy doesn’t get fucking soaked trying to find the place during a cloud burst.
Alright so I'm not gonna lie, this break up had me fucked up for a minute.
Starting as far back as two years ago I was thinking to myself that there was no way I could spend the rest of my life with this woman. She's needy, she's depressed, her weight bounces back and forth, she's insecure, she constantly complains about people she works with, and she thinks of herself almost exclusively. Now obviously this isn't her 100% of the time because we did have a pretty great and drama-free relationship together with a lot of laughs in it, but that's a brief summation of the stuff I had to deal with. And I mean I had to deal with it because it became my full time job to be her emotional support boyfriend. I let her move in with me after we met to get her out of the terrible apartment she was in. Then I moved us into our own brand new place together. I bought her a dog. I took care of that dog 90% of the time. I took in the cat from her old apartment so it wouldn't be abandoned and take care of it 100% of the time. I paid all our bills for a year so she could go to grad school for Classical Acting. I spent that year driving her to class at 8AM or picking her up at 9PM if she missed the metro or was just "too tired." I made cakes and candies for all of the class's special occasions. I talked her out of dropping out a dozen different times and listened every single night as she complained about the same 5 people in the class or the same things she found egregious about it. I made her meals for her. I introduced her to my larger circle of friends and made sure she got in good with all of them so she'd have more support if she needed it. I introduced her to the woman who became her new best friend in the world. She... got me good birthday presents, I will give her that.
So finally the talk comes up about marriage and she comes clean that she just never wants kids. Perfect. Like everything else that I had to do, all the times cleaning up after her (and then hearing that I didn't clean well enough), enduring her coming home from something fun only to announce "I'm sad" an hour later, the just constant slow drain on my emotional strength, the kid thing seals it. So we make the decision to wait out our lease and go our separate ways.
Two days before move-out date I was just struck by not wanting to do it. I have no idea where it came from but I was just shook about uprooting the life we had (which I should mention was super convenient for her but left me with an hour-long commute each way every day). I don't know, seeing my apartment getting packed up, knowing everything was really about to change, the end of everything familiar for the last 4 years, it really shook me up.
But then after everything was all moved out and we were saying goodbye and my guts were all wrenched, I said hey, I really thought this would work out. I really saw a life with you (wasn't exactly true but I wanted to end 4 years on a romantic note). Her response was "well I was disappointed and embarassed that you didn't have all your things packed when our friends got here to help."
So in the end, I really gotta thank her, because she helped me feel 100% better about my doing the right thing. I peaced right out, came back the next day to clean and lock up the apartment, dropped her things off with a friend, and did not look back. I'm staying with some other friends for now but should be set up in my own new place this weekend. Phew, I'm only telling this story here now instead of in Random Win because this is where it started, but it literally feels like I've been trying to move forward for 4 years with all my strength except I had a boulder strapped to me, and suddenly the straps came off.
I know I'm making her out to be pretty terrible and she's not, but damn, it does feel good to be out of that.
