When it comes to parking as we have to pay for it, there is no mercy in this dojo.

It seems like that shit happens a lot to you guys. Which is extra crazy considering you pay extra for it. I'd tow all those asshats

So my mouse seems to be starting to go out. Should be no big problem since we also accept e waste and not too infrequently we get customers that just dump entire computers on us so we normally have dozens laying around. Well seems like someone went and cleaned it up and sent to an actual disposal place... and of course didn't think to ya know keep some of the mice/keyboards.

Third time we've called for a tow. All 3 times it was a different car. First two times, people got to the car as the tow truck was pulling up so they saved themselves. It's probably in part that the staircase to go up to the apartments is right across from her spot, so it's technically the closest walk and people are lazy asshats.

My lease on current apartment ends on April 30th. I have until March 31st to re-sign my lease before it becomes available on the open market per my lease agreement. Twice in the last week I got automated messages informing me that an apartment viewing was scheduled for the next day for prospective new tenants. Had to call landlord to get it cancelled and remind them I have until March 31st. The first time I can chalk up to human error. The second time just feels like they are trying to bully me into re-signing, which I planned to do anyway, but their business practices feel super shitty.

The Contractor is cutting corners (hilariously so) and doing a poor job, so now today my job sucks too--additional pictures, emails, reports, and documentation to the project managers and the client/homebuilder.

These homes will probably perform poorly and settle. Maybe we'll see more condemned newly built homes and litigation shitshows.

My coworker was late today because her daughter's friend who was driving to her house to pick her daughter up, was in a car accident. I'm hearing the words, but it's having trouble processing. So let me understand this, you, not the parent of the kid involved in the accident and your daughter wasn't involved in the accident, had to be late to your work because your kid's friend was in an accident?

I mean, if she wasn't planning on dropping the kid off that could make her late.

There's also then panicking child that is scared for her friend so there may have been a detour.

Maybe I'm just a dick but I see zero reason to be late when your kid's friend was involved in a little fender bender and your kid was at home and nothing happened to them. I mean, do you need to go to the scene of every accident (yeah, she went to the scene) when your kid's friend is involved in an accident? But I'm also just fed up with this idiot. She spent the last two hours of yesterday on one of the work lines on a personal call for over 20 minutes (even told the person she was talking to she can talk on the phone whenever she wants) and then basically pushing paper around and "being on hold" for extreme amounts of time.

edit: My boss is even questioning why she needed to to go to the scene. She stuttered her way thru a stupid answer. Whatever. Just got a text from a place I interviewed for. Literally praying for good news.

Yeah if your kid is at home then there's no reason for you to have to go. That's at most a 15min phone call with your child before you go about your day as normal.

I mean fender bender and accident are two different things in my mind. Fender bender is BS, but if my friend was in a bad accident I'd be more inclined to see what was up.

I'm of the opinion that if you're already at work and its not an immediate family member, then you make a call or two and keep working. Take off the next day maybe, I can see that, but to leave work cause your daughter's friend was in a small accident? Nah son.

You have a pretty negative bias about this person. It may be justified but you are kinda a dick about everything involving her. Thats ok you are jaded because they pull stuff all the time. Having kids is complicated as fuck and you are constantly juggling stuff. Some people also go out of their way to take advantage of that.

Maybe this friend is on her own and doesn't have any parents to help her out or her parents are really shitty so this mom felt obligated to help her out because she is her daughters friend and it is hard not to feel protective and parenty about your kids friends.

That being said at face value I agree with you that she didn't need to run off to the accident and be late for work. (That is making a judgement though with a lot of missing information.)

Zoob you are right but not without good reason and as you said, some go out of their way to take advantage and she absolutely does. I always try to give those the benefit of the doubt. But as soon as that trust is broken then that's it. If it didn't affect my daily work life I wouldn't give a shit. But it's literally something at the minimum every other day with this person about their personal life or screwing up vital things at work (not going there). That's on top of the stress she causes during the course of the work day by being an absolute cancer not only to us but to customers. To try and give perspective, looking at the email I sent our boss on 12/17/18 I documented 68 incidents of either tardiness or disrupting work for multiple reasons from 10/11/18 to 12/17/18.

About your sentiment of the other kid not having parents or something. If my worker didn't have her solid track record of being terrible I'd of considered that. Even though I'm not a parent I can understand how a parent would also care for their kid's friends too. Really, this is just me venting as it just helps to type it out to release it from my head. I know every place has that one or two terrible coworkers, but when it's 3 people with one being the owner/boss, one terrible coworker is too much.

Even though this is the fail thread I'll cap off the above post with not only do I need to call the auto dealer I had an interview with two Monday's ago, I just received an email requesting a second interview for IT Help Desk Support.

Fail for me, though a win for my wallet. Recently discovered Hasbro released a new Transformers line called Siege based on the War for Cybertron trilogy. Picked up Ironhide and Prowl last night and it was the last of each at Walmart. My Ironide has the common leg clip falls off if a gnat in the other room sneezes defect, and Prowl despite being sealed was missing his instructions and I'm a stickler for ensuring I have everything, so back to the store they go. At least the re-release of the G1 mini's (Bumblebee, Warpath, Gears, and Swerve) are fine and look great on my toy shelf at work.

I got a question though. Might be misremembering previous issues but Wasn't this coworkers kid an adult?

She's got 22 year old twins that she does everything for as well. Spent the first hour of yesterday on her cell phone doing bank stuff for them. She's the pure definition of helicopter parent. Her one son couldn't figure out how to pay his urgent care bill because it didn't have an online option so she brought to work to pay it over the phone for him. A 22 year old couldn't figure that out. This one is 18 graduating high school.

There is so much more but I'm sure that would come across more as a whine than a rant which is understandable. There have just been so many WTF moments and it's just overwhelming at times.

So daughter is legally an adult and her friend likely is as well... so even less of a reason for her to be there

My 18 year old self was not smart enough to handle a real car accident on my own. Legal adult or not.

True but in my experience most full grown adults with full grown adult kids aren't either...
