Character from Voyager, an ex-Borg from birth (like Seven), and Seven was basically his adopted mother

basically a child/preteen from voyager just up and has his eye removed while conscious before having to be put down by his adopted mother. Was not expecting this from a star trek show

I just know you all love when I post the RLM reviews of this

IDK why they keep doing this to themselves.

And family. By far, the best episode in the series. Also, dat TAS reference, from nowhere. For those of you who wanted payoff, from yesteryear, this episode had it in spades, and seems like a turning point, back to the younger, Picard.

So, I guess they're gonna run with the whole mind meld/mind control rationale for killing Maddox.

Still kinda dumb the EMH never brought it up or that there was no kind of log alert system.

The chick could have altered its memory. They did it to the Doctor all the time in Voyager.

Pretty much all modern TV is. Just kill everyone, and make sure the audience knows everyone can be killed. Pretty great substitute for meaningful writing. Shits been all the rage since Walking Dead/GoT, its the "Cinematic Universe" of cable TV.

I'll get off my soapbox now.

Nah you're right. Fake stakes is lazy writing.

This is largely why I mention logs, and by extension, security access. A random civilian shouldn't have the capability of accessing the EMH program and tweaking it, let alone any sort of system that should flag medical alerts. A captain, especially of a small ship, should have a damn good idea of what's going on relative to key resources, crew, and guests.

Anyway, the mind meld explains why she did it, even if hella tacky. It still doesn't justify her getting away with it so far. "She's also a 1337 h4x0r" is just piling onto the narrative BS with no real implication she should have that skill set, especially when that's something that's been attributed to a different member of the crew already.

I would think one of the leaders in synthetics would have a pretty good understanding of computers. Just sayin.

*shrug* That's like saying you know C++ because you know HTML, but whatever.

It's more like saying you're one of the leaders in understanding the most complicated computers in the universe so you're pretty good with the basics. But whatever.

Vessel AIs and EMHs are probably based on the same systems that synths use for AI but it’s more advanced. It would make sense that she would understand how to manipulate the code surrounding those systems.

I’ll nitpick the fuck out of this god awful, firefly wannabe, lazy ass series all day. But yah that android knowing his way around a computer doesn’t seem like much of a plot hole. It’s within the realm of reasonable belief for me even if it was never outright explained.

You can not like it, but where in hell is the Firefly comment coming from? They're not stylistically similar other than they're in space. This story started decades before firefly was a thing too.

Don't get me wrong, I love Firefly. That just seems like a ridiculous comparison.

Sorry I was going for a comparable "Sci-Fi action show where the Sci takes a huge back seat to the Fi Action", and Firefly is rightly the best one I could remember. Honestly, its insulting to Firefly. My bad.
