Not sure where to ask so here we are. My boss is constantly calling certain people "flaming liberals". Since he's not a 19 year old internet tough guy meme lord please tell me wtf that means.
Usually "flaming" was a derogatory prefix before "homosexuals" so you can see the evolution there.

he sounds like a real pole-smoking conservative.
Sounds like the type of conservative to tap other guys shoes at airport stalls.

Frank Sinatra's "Baby It's Cold Outside" has been pulled by a Cleveland, OH radio station citing #MeToo culture.
To be fair, its a pretty rapey song lol
And yet, Pumped Up Kicks can be heard all over the place.
Singling in on this particular song is just dumb.
To my understanding, it was considered impolite back then to accept the first invitation to stay.

That said, Let It Snow is basically the same song and is better.

Also what is Pumped Up Kicks and why are we pretending it has the social presence of a song everyone knows of and is played all over the place every Christmas.
Targets different generations for sure, but 5~ years ago, you heard that shit everywhere. Rock, alt, pop, etc. I'm surprised it was allowed to play considering the first minute of lyrics described someone shooting up a school.
Robert's got a quick hand
He'll look around the room, he won't tell you his plan
He's got a rolled cigarette, hanging out his mouth he's a cowboy kid
Yeah found a six shooter gun
In his dad's closet hidden oh in a box of fun things, I don't even know what
But he's coming for you, yeah he's coming for you
All the other kids with the pumped up kicks
You'd better run, better run, out run my gun
All the other kids with the pumped up kicks
You'd better run, better run, faster than my bullet
Ksandra taking notes from the school of Day.
prolly a particularly relevant song for her as a teacher, haha
My point is most people probably enjoy a song here or there with shit up lyrics, and it doesn't necessarily promote such behavior. It just sounds rather hypocritical to be all for a song about a school shooting, then turn around and be upset about a song with an outdated plot that is now rapey-sounding.
I used this one since its a more recent popular song, but I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people who enjoy the song didn't even realize what the lyrics even were. (Youtube it, if you want to see what I mean.) It's got a nice melody, just a really shitty topic. And as mentioned above, was played all over the fucking place, and I still hear it quite often. You've probably heard it, too, and just never knew what it was called.
